this weekend my speed has gone from 6.5meg to 250k. What the "F" is going on with Orange?

Exactly the same thing happened to me although I'm only on 2meg. Speed was abysmal, down to between 200k and 500k for most of Sunday. Absolute garbage!
Happened the previous weekend as well and some nights during the week including tonite as I'm now down at 400k to 630k!
I wish I'd stayed with Zen, more expensive but a LOT faster!
Edit, just reached an all time low of 80k - wow, I'm so glad I joined Orange!
2nd Edit, can no longer use VOIP because the connection speed is so low the LiveBox cuts off the call (which is extremely garbled anyway due to poor connection). Tried to contact Orange on Landline, gave up after 15 minutes of waiting!

Hi, Im new to forums so bear with me please.
I'm on Orange 2Mb also, my speeds since joing them on Oct 17 this year have been consistently below 250k, tonight I'm down to 60.97Kbps, which has become a norm, any time day or night even weekends. And this is broadband?
The 60.97Kbps test was completed at 1920 hrs this evening.
New test taken at 2125hrs:
Down 61.21Kbps
Up 169.10Kbps.
These speeds have become a norm for me since I joined Orange. After weeks and weeks, (since Oct 17) of trying to resolve the problem, both with Tech Support and customer support, all they have told me is they will do a line test. I have had at least 4 done so far. Nothings changed.

is this connection speed or throughput? (I assume this is throughput)
What hardware are you using (if its livebox, what do the stats say?)
What are you using to determine your speeds?

How do you know the problem is due to Orange, What service are you on? i.e. is it a Orange LLU Line or BT IP Stream Max?

" How do you know the problem is due to Orange, What service are you on? i.e. is it a Orange LLU Line or BT IP Stream Max? "
YOU PAY ORANGE FOR A SERVICE, IT IS UP TO ORANGE TO PROVIDE THAT SERVICE.
IT IS NEITHER HERE OR THERE HOW THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED, LLU OR BT IP STREAM RE-SALE , OR WHATEVER, ORANGE TAKE YOUR MONEY, IT IS UP TO THEM AND THEM AND THEM ALONE TO PROVIDE THE SERVICE, AND TO SOLVE PROBLEMS AS THEY ARISE.
ORANGE MUST HAVE THE LARGEST EXCUSE LIST OF ANY ISP !!!

I WASN'T TRYING TO DEFEND ORANGE or LAY BLAME ANYWHERE THEY ARE SIMPLY QUESTIONS DESIGNED TO NARROW THE PROBLEM! BUT SINCE YOU HAVE RAISED IT, ORANGE ARE PROVIDING THE SERVICE! WE ARE TALKING ABOUT SLOW SPEEDS NOT NO SERVICE. THERE IS NOTHING IN THE CONTRACT THAT SAYS THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE FAULT FREE OR THAT FAULTS WILL BE RESOLVED IN A SET TIMEFRAME. THEY DO NOT MAKE ANY GUARANTEES ABOUT SPEED OF THE SERVICE YOU ARE PAYING FOR A UPTO 8 MEG (THIS IS THE SAME FOR ALL ISP's) IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR A SERVICE WITH FIXED SPEED AND FAULTS FIXED WITHIN AN SLA THEN YOU HAVE PURCHASED THE WRONG PRODUCT !!!!! GO BUY A LEASE LINE SERVICE WITH AN SLA !!!!!!
Anyway.......
The reason I asked because I was trying to HELP people who are having an issue!
It helps if you are armed with the right information when you call Any Customer Service Dept! Simply saying my speed is [censored] is unlikely to be the best way to go with any ISP!!!!
I personally know people that have migrated from ISP's because "there speed was [censored]!" only to find out that its no better with the next ISP because they were on an BT exchange that required an Upgrade.
Anyone interested can check the exhange information on www.SamKnows.com.
Check your speed at: www.Speedtest.net
If you find that your speed results are OK but the general websurfing seems slow, its worth checking how quickly the DNS server is responding.

search the web for "exchange checker" enter your phone number see if it tells you your on a congested exchange.if you are it will tell you that your speed will be low and when the exchange will be upgraded
