Thinking about subscribing to Broadband Unlimited

[link to this post]

Hello,

I'm finally about to take the plunge and upgrade my old dial-up to broadband.

I'm interested in Orange Broadband Unlimited due to the unlimited free phone calls through the livebox. My wife is at home on maternity and so uses the phone quite a lot during the day.

As a broadband user, I won't be downloading Gigabytes of stuff; I'll just be doing "normal" surfing.

Does anyone else use Orange Unlimited for the free phone service? If so, is it any good?

Regards,
Paul

I highly reccommend orange broadband - DONT NOT GO WITH BT!!!!!

I guess everywhere you go there are problems with ISP's, but at the same time lots of members are happy with the service. I was a happy tiscali broadband user a few years ago - now how much do you hear that being said?

Orange are very good for the money and the livebox/talk package is excellent.

Have a look through the posts on this site.

Then have a look on the ORANGEPROBLEM site.

Also go to Oranges own home page, then to forums, then to internet.

Makes interesting, or frightening reading!

Be aware that there is an ongoing problem with the talk service, there are more than a few thousand subscribers that have one of two problems,

(1) unable to use, or, enable the talk service at all.

(2) can only make outgoing calls, ie no incoming calls, anyone trying to call you gets either an unobtainable number, or unable to connect !!!

This has been ongoing for in excess of 3 months now, Orange are aware and admit to the problem, yet after 3 monts are unable to solve it!!!

Speaks volumes for a telecoms provider.

They have by the way 'experts' in France working on it !!!!!!

Ps. Hope you never have to call Oranges c/s to help you through a problem.
