Depends what your priorities are.
If it is free broadband on the back of a mobile phone contract, and "run of the mill" broadband as per the other bulk offer providers i.e. Sky, Carphone, Tiscali, etc. then there is not much between them.
If you value reliability, good customer service and don't mind spending around

I've been with Orange for ages and never had any problems. Speeds always fast, never get disconnected and never had to contact them. I'm with 8meg broadband with unlimited downloads and it's worth the

Cat1,
I had your faith in their service up until this:-

Customer Service is appalling. Had to ask for my MAC code before they took me seriously.

Thanks for the input. It will be on the free back of a mobile contract connection, but from 22.99 down to 0.00 and just having been made redundant, but will still have to think about it.

I've switched recently, and so far so good. Considering the saving I'm now making on my phone and BB I'm happy. If I was downloading 100GB a month, I wouldn't be, but I'd expect to pay a premium for that kind of usage.

Ive not been with orange long, but have no complaints at all, speeds are great (slow down a little between 6pm and 9pm), the connection is solid and the supplied livebox works great.
I went for the unlimited option with my existing phone contract so its saving me a packet too.
It seems the people with problems are on the LLU service which we do not have at our exchange.
It may be worth checking your exchange to see if you will be put on the unbundled service.

Brad have you got the live box plugged into the main BT socket or is it on an extension? what are the distances you are from the live box? is it just wireless or has it got ports on the back for if you want to use wires?

When they were under the Freeserve banner, I had nothing but trouble with them, the main reason being was there free access, and too many people, could never get online.
Living in a village, Wanadoo were one of a very small number that would give me broadband, although it was only 512kb 18 months ago, this has now increased to 2MB. I have mixed feelings about them, service! I cannot fault it, never had a problem. Customer service if you need them! do not rate at all.
On the whole I would recommend them. My view is you get nothing for nothing! Pay for internet access you will get a better service than a free one.

My livebox is on an extension as was my previous router.
I'm approx 20 meters away from the livebox but is also serves my xbox live and 2 othe PC's in the house.
It has 2 ethernet ports so can be used as wired or wireless.

Thanks Brad, think I will give them a ring later.

I hope you get good service from orange. I have been with them since 2002. I have never had any major problems. The livebox is alright, but it isnt the fastest router in the world.

I think that Samknows is a bit out of date.
I suspect that my exchange (Hamilton, Scotland) was unbundled around mid January (hence my transfer to LLU) and it is not mentioned on the listings.
