Are you on LLU with Orange?
There is a known issue with TBB speedtests to Orange LLU : http://forums.thinkbroadband.com/freeserve/f/3564037...
but your daytime D/S speeds look too high for that.
Post your full router stats?

Yes, you are on LLU ("ModulationType ADSL_2plus "), as I'd expect in Caversham , so you will be affected by that issue I mentioned, as I am.
Aside from slow speedtests, does it adversely affect your normal browsing? If not, ignore it.
Suggest you run TBB speedtests after 1AM; also do http://www.speedtest.net/ and get these stas at that time : UpstreamAttenuation 191
DownstreamAttenuation 350
UpstreamNoiseMargin 261
DownstreamNoiseMargin 77
UpstreamMaxRate 945000
DownstreamMaxRate 5105
UpstreamCurrRate 605
DownstreamCurrRate 4093
Also your D/S Sync Speed of 4093 Kbps is low for your Attenuation; you should be getting about 8 Meg, so there could be a problem with your wiring.

I'm also having appalling dl speed problems since July, when our exchange was apparently upgraded by Orange.
This resulted in a significant loss of speed, as I'm quite a way from the exchange, I was getting 1800kbps - 2000kbps, I'm now lucky to get 1400kbps during the day, and a shocking 260kbps - 440kbps during the evening, making it unusable for my purposes.
I've sent emails to customer services, but only received an answer to one, I also sent copies of my speeds going back to 2006, and a graph of them, both from thinkbroadband.
Today I bit the bullet, and phoned the costly and lengthy customer services, explained everything, even what I sent, the reply? you have to do speed tests to let us know what they are, then I have to phone them again with the results, I am so angry with them it's unbelievable.
This is a terrible service, I think it's about time Ofcom sorted Orange out!

Orange Response, Thank you your customer services have been given all these details with the speed results

Kenny 100 I also went down the onbudsman road about two years ago and they ensured I paid nothing for ISP for about a year, they even sent and engineer around to set up the system to their exact specifications, Needless to say I have changed nothing and the Orange customer help desk overseas has to be the worst.

|
Johnathan, I must ask about your e mail as customer service emails are to the following [email protected] so why is yours at work different with this [email protected]

I agree about the overseas help[less] desk, they read standard responses, a very bad advert for any company.
It does prove Orange do not give a toss about personal customer care, or problem rectification, and what you say about the ombudsman is interesting.

This gets no better , no response from e mails sent over a week ago and today you cant even load their home page or send another e mail with my latest speed tests
How the hell do I get Orange to wake up- court action maybe? breach of their contract with me to supply a service and maintain it
