If you are looking for a firmware file to download and manually upgrade, there isn't one, as the upgrade is performed by the Netgear router using the Netgear firmware update process.

The instructions to upgrade the router are contained in the Quick Help tab on the pevious link. However I have provided a direct link to the Quick Help page here. Upgrade Quick Help

If I go to the netgear site I can download a file for a regular (Non Branded) netgear router so why not for the Branded one?

Hi Mike,

The new Netgear firmware is specific for Orange in the UK and the DGN1000SP Netgear router.

There are no plans to release the firmware file as a download, to ensure it is only loaded on the correct routers using the Netgear update process.

I appreciate that the firmware is Orange Specific and would be of no use to anyone else.

I wanted to download it and flash my backup router (a DGN1000SP) without disrupting my household by disconnecting my current router.

Does this update solve all the problems with the wireless networking? ie. being so slow that web pages wont load.

Currently using my old Netgear router and wondering if its worth me trying the updated DGN1000 again.

The majority of the firmware fixes were aimed at the wireless issues. So yes it would be worth trying your DGN1000SP again.
