This afternoon I rebooted my brightbox router and it changed the colour scheme from orange to their EE pale green and the Fibre setting appeared, also a mobile broadband page. smile

Does this automatic update depend on the TR069 module function being enabled?

Is it possible to supply this new firmware as an ordinary download?

Almost certainly. TR069 is responsible for checking and updating firmware.

Oliver.

yes the firmware update is deployed via the TR069 remote management protocol and it sounds like its deployed over night and for the next few weeks

You sure of which one? Cuz the BrightBox has both a TR069 module function and a Remote Management function separate from each other.

Hi XraySpex,

The firmware will only be deployed remotely either by the tr069 or an agent on the telephone.

Thanks

Yes, Thanks! It auto deployed here at about 10 AM today.

Now I am able to increase MTU to 1500 and it works (ping -f -l 1472 www.bbc.co.uk) smile

Hi Gavin,

I like to thank you and all those back at Orange/EE for listening to our concerns about the original BrightBox and including them in the upgraded EE firmware as well as noticing that some of your 'secret' pages had been hacked grin

When I called Orange tech support, one of the agents said there was not any new firmware, even though I told him about the anouncement on the Orange website. Another agent also said that they were not able to force the update to my brightbox, or send me the firmware to load!

Would welcome your thoughts Gavin.

Also do we have a change log?

If other dynamic DNS providers were added (like the free ones on ddwrt/openwrt) this modem would be pretty close to perfect.

My router rebooted itself just after midnight and cleared all its log, unlike a normal dropped connection/re-sync, more like yesterday's firmware deployment.

What's it up to? Is it repeating auto firmware deployment?

Still not been deployed on mine, any idea when the daytime updates are scheduled for? I have called and asked EE support but they were clueless.

Have you disabled Remote Management and/or TR069 on it?

Minor update on this, I had to hard-reboot my router last night as the config page froze. The new firmware has now appeared smile
