... after being told, two nights ago by EE in India, that they'd definitely updated it... but haven't.

your looks like a brightbox 1 mines a brightbox 2

your boot code version is too old to be a bb2 one

Looking at it, I think that's a BrightBox 2. In which case, that may be the correct version.
