EE SIM Italian message in new phone.

[link to this post]

My wife has bought a new phone; Samsung A40 European model, from Amazon.

I took the EE SIM card from her old phone, Samsung J5, and put in new phone. On start bootup messages are in Italian?

I tried phoning EE but they are not taking tech calls at present.

Can anyone please advise?

Phone should boot and be useable on just a Wi-Fi network, so remove SIM and see if the messages are still italian?

If yes, then a simple language change in the phone settings should sort you out.

Some Amazon bought phones are sourced overseas. I bought a Samsung there. Some of the paper documents were in Italian as were a couple of unremovable browser bookmarks. Other than that it's been OK ever since & Android updates itself regularly.

Samsung id'ed it as Swiss but is still guaranteed.

Mine came with a European plug. Did yours? I bought a UK plug on Amazon.
