EE Smart Router and 2.4ghz devices

[link to this post]

I am looking to move to FTTP within next couple of months. looking at providers and i get a discount with EE as use them for mobile. I have some older smart devices which use 2.4 ghz. The smart router with EE fibre says it is dual band but I have seen people saying you cannot separate the signals with this router and have been unable to connect 2,4ghz devices. anyone able to clarify this?

You can't separate the WiFi bands of the EE Smart Router, unlike the EE Smart Hub. For 2.4 GHz devices that have difficulty connecting to it in its default configuration, it is best to first disable the 5 GHz band, connect the 2.4 GHz device and then reenable the 5 GHz band.

If you can't split the bands a 2.4ghz only Access point is around £25 if that's any help (Assuming it has an ethernet port to connect it to)

Why spend money when you can get round it?
