Report poor speeds

[link to this post]

I am currently 'forced' onto 4g Mobile b/band waiting for fibre. My provider RWG Mobile piggybacks on Now mobile who piggy back on EE. At the moment I am in an EE declared (RH20 2NJ) area of 'good' 4g 'inside and outdoors'. While the download is quite presentable, the upload is appalling. I am getting around 28 down and between 0 and 0.3 up. RWG 'customer service' is next to zero and I cannot report this speed to EE through them. I cannot go direct to EE without an account number with EE.

Can anyone offer a way to get EE to look at this?

No, EE are not responsible for it. You have to raise this with RWG (they will speak to EE on your behalf) as EE is for their own EE customers only.

Hi Mike

To be totally frank, you're unlikely to get anywhere regardless of who you manage to report it to, mobile companies always seem to have a way to push the problem back into your domain of control.

Your provider connection seems very convoluted, why did you go this way?

RWG Mobile > Now Mobile > EE Mobile

Edit: Just to add, if you pop the sim into a mobile and stand under the mast what speed to you get? this will not solve the problem but will at least prove if you're being throttled.

What band is your mobile broadband connection using?
Do you have an internal or external aerial?

why did you go this way? I didn't, RWG did?

What band is your mobile broadband connection using? No idea! How do I find out?

Do you have an internal or external aerial? I cannot see that matters. Surely the huge difference in speeds shows something is adrift?

adsl - I thought so. Basically up the creel without a paddle. I can just cope to limp along but it should be sorted.

Your contract is with RWG and therefore you would have to go through them. But, I am not sure you would ever get anywhere unless RWG are doing something to throttle the connection - if it is just how EE performs in your location then your only other option would be looking at using external antenna to see if that gives you better reception.

Your contact for problems with RWG sims is NOW Mobile helpline if your phone shows a NOW connection..

You better off cancel with RWG and port your pac to 1p mobile (one of the best unthrottling using EE 5G network)

Why didn't you go direct to EE rather than indirectly RWG > NOW > EE?

1999: Freeserve 48K Dial-Up > 2005: Wanadoo 1 Meg BB > 2007: Orange 2 Meg BB > 2008: Orange 8 Meg LLU > 2010: Orange 16 Meg LLU > 2011: Orange 20 Meg WBC > 2020: EE 40 Meg FTTC > 2022: EE 80 Meg FTTC SoGEA > 2025 EE 150 Meg FTTP

I use 1p mobile, very good for UK use, can prove problematical if in EU for 60+ days at a time.
