Orange Spam Apeel!

[link to this post]

A friend of mine has been with Wannafreeorange for years and receives incredible amounts of spam, over 900 yesterday alone!!! Is there anything that can be done about this as he says that Orange make no effort to control it. Change ISP the only option?

He could go into his Orange Webmail interface and turn on the spam filter. It is a bit over-enthusiatic though so he will need to monitor it for a while to pick up any valid emails that it flags, and add the senders to his allowed list.

Mine now picks up the vast majority of spam and only occasionally flags a new contact as spam or lets spam through into the inbox.

Thanks for that. I have forwarded your suggestion and it seems to be helping matters

You're welcome. Just keep an eye on it for a few weeks to catch the exceptions. And don't bother adding addresses to the blocked list - spammers never use the same address anyway.

When i was with Free/Wana/Orange i used to get at least a 1,000 spam emails a day it was horrendous Orange wasnt in the least interested they would only change my emaill addy if i signed up for another 12 month contract (not likely) my last 6 months with them was impossible to use my freeserve address i deleted it from outlook and used Gmail till i migrated away i have had no spam whatsoever since.

Never trust a Spaniard particularly with an Orange, can be very un-sevilla
