it all makes sense now! Ah well, if no ISP is accepting LLU MAC codes then i suppose i will face the same disruption with any provider i decide to migrate to.

I called Orange a couple of hours ago and i got a little worried when i asked them to check my line by giving them my phone number and the rep replied that he was not able to check it because their line checker was offline!

Can anyone tell me what sort of speeds to expect with the stats below? My line i around 1.5km straight line from the exchange, which sounds a bit far for 8Mb...

Downstream Rate: 2272 Kbps
Upstream Rate: 288 Kbps
Downstream Margin: 14 db
Upstream Margin: 26 db
Downstream Line Attenuation: 51
Upstream Line Attenuation: 31
Downstream Transmit Power: 0
Upstream Transmit Power: 0

i don't really trust samknows a lot...

when i moved to this place the site was certain that i couldn't get any more than 512kbps because i was too far from the exchange. On the contrary i was connected on 2Mbit (the highest speed available at that time) and haven't had any drop outs either
