Well I haven't rang Orange back yet, keep gettin put in a queue and the price of the call just isn't worth the wait to be told that 'apparently' nothings wrong by someone I can barely understand!
Though I have nothing against Indian call centres (they are just doing their job), I find it very odd how a
Technical Support Department can be based there, as they are giving out instructions that we need to follow.
Anyway, back to the point.... My download speeds have increased to around 100kb/s, and my line is syncin at speeds of around 1.5meg most of the time, though ny noise is still between 14-15!
EDIT : Just did a little check over at samknows.com, and these are my results;
BT ADSL broadband availability
You are connected to the Ferryhill telephone exchange.
ADSL is available in your area
Your exchange is also enabled for ADSL Max services
According to BT Wholesale, your line should be able to support a 1.5Mbps or greater ADSL connection via ADSL Max.
Standard ADSL RAG results:
You cannot receive 2Mbps ADSL
You may be able to receive 1Mbps ADSL
You can receive 512Kbps ADSL
You can receive 256Kbps ADSL
You are approximately 2.64km from the exchange (straight line distance).
It used to say I could support 2Mbps, hopefully that will go back up becuase its not the first time its changed. Once it said I could only get 512kbps then it went up to 2.5mbps!
