Wouldn't get too excited, generally speeds will be fine before about 5pm and after 11pm but have been pretty atrocious (under 1mb and much worse for many) between 5-11 the last couple of weeks.

Try a speed test peak time.

On saying that I just did a test and got great speeds (for peak time), 3.6mb!! (and someones using the other machine too!) as good as it's ever been......maybe Orange have fixed things?

Speed problem solved?

[re: core2k] [link to this post]

Getting above 5mb now speeds pretty much near max, 2nd day in a row speeds seem OK at peak times. This time last week and every evening (until yesterday) was getting under 1mb....

I've had much faster speeds this weekend than i've been used to , with 6meg most of saturday and although it did slow down in the evening, it was still over 1meg. back down to 500 this evening again though...

proof will be peak hour tomorrow evening to see if anything is actually better

Out of all the people which have speed issues from 4pm til 11pm (me included sometimes) i wonder how many have the common sense to actually disconnect and reconnect several times to get their speed back up?

I know, i know we shouldn't have too but it does work ;o)

Besides...simple tip...if you want to do heavy downloading then do it in the daytime & do normal surfing in the evening ;o)

All in all i cant complain about Orange as ive had no trouble with them or Wanadoo & Freeserve before that. It amazes me how many people [censored] and whine about Orange and give them negative feedback over @ DSL Zone ISP rating when 75% of the time its the nit wit of a user that doesnt know how to set things up properly.

Do u really think that those negative comments on DSL ZoneUK is mainly because they havn't set it up properly? i dont think so nor did radio 4 at lunchtime today.

A customer shouldn't need the common sense to disconnect and reconnect several times to get their speed back up, a connection should work full stop spare a thought for the people that have had NO connection for several weeks at a time ive experienced this with Orange thats why im no longer with them and their non existent CS and TS .

Well i admit in some cases its slightly more than that BUT with the comments some of them leave it makes you wonder if they even know what 2+2 is?
