ok so reading these boards theres alot of things about speeds at peak times/tech agent lieing/line tests and well pretty much the same stuff over and over.and its clear other people post stuff with out reading other post. (cough cough idiots) i know this is an orange forum but some of this is mainly adsl related stuff in general. firstly slow speeds at peak times if this is happening to you then its highly likely that other people on your exchange are getting it aswell some will even lose all broaband all together.if you start getting it then check ur phone number into an exchange checker before moaning on to tech support. fair enuff these checkers ARE NOT garunteed to tell you if there is a problem and if they say that your exchange is congested this again dosent mean that this is deffinatly the corz of your problem.but they normal have a estemated date as to when B.T are planning on updateing the exchange. and alot of people request line tests to the tech agents and get rather anoyed and abusive when they are told that one shouldnt be done.if you put a line test in on a line for slow speeds or no sync when theres no problem with the actual line or the service isnt ready to be used the theres a good possibility that your line speed will be reduced so moaning about temporary speed issues without checking everything first can lead to permant lower speeds.
alot of tech agents learn on the job as theres very little training not really there fault. and it is frustrateing when they do a line test and you call back every day only to be told that theres no update from the engineers this isnt there fault.and yes they do often tell lies to get you off the fone because theres nothing they can do for you. but if they said to you after a week of you waiting for your line to get sorted "well theres nothing i can do" most people would start to shout.and yeah your internets broke and your paying for it so it should be fixed sharpish but if anyones to blame its the actual companies orange,bt, so on.also the tech agent who you think work for orange... well most of them dont there hired by a random call center who get a contract from orange.and if orange took that contract away next week that anoying tech agent you spoke to this week could be ringing next week to sell you sky t.v. so i think you get a hint of the amount of traing they get. sorry its been so long but hey someone had to say it. so remeber
dont blame the techies there helpless. if you all bombarded the head office of the company you feel is responsible instead of steaming of at tech agents(which wont get you anywere)they surely must sort there service. my opinion if you can get broaband through cable do it its more reliable,its faster,its just better.and lets be honest getting broadband from a mobile phone company..is that not asking for trouble? would you let a palsy suffer perfom a heart by pass with a pipe wrench on your kids. (hartigan) no!!!!! get your internet from a proper internet company,get your mobile from a mobile company,wipe your ars e with toilet roll not sand paper and so on and so forth. have a good one. lol
