help still having issues with internet ( orange)

after having a lot of issues with wireless signal in my flat ,i bought a wireless adapter 150 mbps,which works ok i guess , in the wireless utility the signal seems to be more stable,though now the problem is i am online navigating around and for some reasons ( i have a mac by the way) a website doesn't work on safari ( like facebook or eurosport etc..) ,though if i open a new tab ( just to check if i am still connected to the internet) to go on a different website it works perfectly even though that website ( facebook) still not loading at all,even if close all the tabs then reopen again and type facebook.com it just won't load at all unless a restart the computer,i managed to find a way to go around it ,it s to open that website with a different navigator , google chrome.But the that also happens with different websites ( like eurosport for example) ,so i go back to safari and play around it (instead of restarting the computer)
why is that? i used to have virgin and o2 never had any troubles before.
please help me out

What router do you have?

Are you on LLU or IPStream with Orange?

i have the siemens router given by orange,router stats? not sure what you mean i get 4.5mb down 0.35 mb upstream.
i am not sure what you mean by LLU or IPStream i live in london se16
i have the 20 mb contract for 10 £

If those speeds are speedtests, then actual router stats are more reliable.

To get those:

Go to: http://192.168.1.1/ and login (default pwd = "admin").
Select Status/Internet from the left menu and post the stuff looking like:

ADSL Line
Status: Cable connected
Line mode: G.992.5 (ADSL2+)
Maximum line rate: 7666 kbps (downstream) / 1192 kbps (upstream)
Noise margin: 26 dB (downstream) / 1235 dB (upstream)
Line attenuation: 15 dB (downstream) / 6 dB (upstream)
Output power: 22 dBm (downstream) / 12 dBm (upstream)

is presumable a Wireless-N device.

They shouldn't be, but maybe they are incompatible.

Have you tried switching channels?

I had this issue. I also found websites wouldn't load at all on the iphone. I changed router and it was sorted. No idea why. My advice try another router - e.g. borrow a friends, see if it works.

i will put the stats in a couple of days as i am away, is there any way the issues could be the MTU settings? i looked it up a bit ,that what i came up with

May be MTU. What is your MTU setting?

after contacting orange they are sending me a livebox but i doubt that will help...
