EE Fibre Connection

How does the ADSL Bright Box connect to fibre?

A BT HomeHub 3 has connectors as follows
* ADSL (Grey)
* BT Infinity (Red)
* Ethernet (Yellow) *4

With BT Infinity the end user gets an extra box which "converts" the fibre to Ethernet, which then plugs into the Red Infinity port. Therefore the BT HH3 acts prety much the same as any ethernet router such as those used by Virgin subscribers.

The BrightBox has connectors as follows
* ADSL (Grey)
* Ethernet (Yellow) *4

With EE Fibre how is this connected to the BrightBox?
I have all four of my yellow ethernet ports in use !

One of the yellow is switched from LAN to be an eWAN port , does one have a blue highlight near it, usually that one. Or if I was to pick a number I would say LAN 1

This then connects via Ethernet to the Openreach modem.

No. 4 of which has a brown over-label marked WAN. Presumably that one!

That's me blown out of the water as I am using all 4 ports.
I don't like the idea of connecting yet another piece of kit (ie a GigaBit Switch)
My wife complains that there are too many gadgets with flashing lights on them already !!

Just buy a switch and stick black tape over LED - no flashing lights smile

Get a router with a four port switch and a separate WAN input!

Since you will only ever require this on FTTC you don't need a combined modem / router.

Asus 900N and Linksys EA4500 etc give you true dual band wireless as well!

On FTTC routing throughput matters if you have a short line - many routers struggle at 40Mb/s upwards!

BT Infinity 2 - IP profile 77 / 20 - super fast!
Previously BE Unlimited - 21,000 Download 1,200 Upload but then moved house - 6,500 Down, 1Mb/s up - gutted!

I was thinking of Buffalo WZR-HP-G300NH with dd-wrt or open-wrt
