Modem only mode

Hi Guys,

Is there any way I can set the livebox to modem only mode, so I can still use the VOIP service and connect the bright box up so I can get n standard wifi and a 300 wifi rating.

Turn off DHCP on it?

Dont suppose you have a more detailed way of doing this. I did speak to Orange tech, but was a waste of time.

Don't know Livebox but most routers similar. Find the DHCP section and disable it.

Would not expect any ISP's CS to help you with this.

In theory. If you have a BrightBox with the new EE firmware you should be able to set it up into Fibre mode, then connect between one of the LiveBox ethernet outputs to the WAN port on the BrightBox. You need to ensure that the DHCP pools do not clash.

Go > Advanced Set-Up > [Accept] > migration wizard

To confirm, the Livebox will be connected to the BT phone socket with rj11 and the brightbox will be set to fibre/Ethernet.

This will then allow me to connect the two devices with an rj45 between them and allow me to use the VOIP service and also benefit from n wifi and 20/40 (300 rate wifi)

That's correct.

These are the steps I would take to achieve this.

Step 1
* BT Point --> BrightBox (Any Port) -> PC
* BrightBox must have latest firmware
* BrightBox must be DHCP Source (Change range to 192.168.2.2-254, Default is 192.168.1.2-254)
* BrightBox must be cofigured for FIBRE

Step 2
* BT Point --> LiveBox -> PC
* LiveBox must be DHCP Source (Keep default range of 192.168.1.2-254)
* Turn off LiveBox Wireless

Step 3
* BT Point --> LiveBox --> (WAN Port) BrightBox (Other Port) -> PC
* Connect PCs to BrightBox via remaing Ethernet Ports or Wireless.

Obviously this is theoretical as I don't have a BrightBox with the latest EE firmware supporting Fibre.
But I have configured a similar setup at home using a Netgear Modem Router and a LinkSys WiFi Router, so I know the principal works.
You may need re-boot of router(s) and PC any some of the points in each of the steps.
