Just ordered Fibre

Hi Folks

Just ordered EE Fibre
I have been with there dsl service for just over a year and never once had an issues.

Would like to know what sort of upload you are all getting and what package you are on?

I find FTTC too expensive for me at this present time, but would like it with speeds up to 76 Mbps downstream and 20 Mbps upstream.

I have been thinking about it for some time now,
But due to uploading a lot of game play videos and now streaming game play i could do with a better upload.

For the dsl side of Orange/EE i have not had an issue.
My line is 1.5Km from the exchange and i get great readings.

Can't wait to see what i get on Fibre,
I work for another ISP and i would have moved over to them only i love the orange bright box to much.
I have 3 wireless networks running on 2 Vlans and yes i would do this with other provider but i just don't have money for the draytek router i would like so sticking with EE.

Not to happy so far,
First the engineer refused to fit the data extension said it needs another order, I know he is talking balls but meh it was bang on 8am and did not want to start on him.

Router is in sync at 80 well 79999 & 20000 but max speed i got with cable in to router was 33Mbps

This is on wireless.
Hope it gets better soon, also going to get on to EE later and tell them i want the data extension fitted and to send some one out.

I asked that question prior to having mine installed and was told there may be a cost and a 2nd visit also. So I opted for wiring a Ethernet cable to my computer instead. The EE operative did offer me a free wireless adapter because I was already with them, but I turned it down as I dislike wireless (personal preference only)

I ordered EE Fibre broadband not long after it was released. I was already with Orange so I benefitted from the £5/month discount offered. My existing copper adsl service was to be fair pretty good, I regularly received around 11MB download and 1mb upload, and pretty stable. However I often work from home so decided that any extra speed may assist with remote into the office. I selected the 76mb/20mb unlimited package.

The install was a bit of a joke really, EE use BT Openreach engineers and the one I had seemed to be less than helpful and to be frank I was a bit concerned regarding his tech knowledge. Anyway having done all the preparation in advance such as running a new cat5e between where my Brightbox is located to the incoming telephone point where I planned to have the fibre modem, and of course installing a socket for the fibre modem, he eventually managed to complete his install.

Since day one my service has been really good, superfast and very stable. The price is still not great and perhaps I should have waited for a better deal, however I have to say the service does enable a great remote access experience and large downloads are just gobbled up!

After some fault finding i found what was causing the throughput issue.
When i was on Adsl i set up QoS when in the orange / ee bright box.

This was not an issue when on dsl but seemed to limit the speed on fibre.
After testing the connection from laptop directly to the Openreach Vdsl modem using windows to dial a pppoe connecton i got throughput of 74Mbps.

So then started to play around with the router's both the Oright bight box and the EE Bright box (The kind folks at EE sent me another one)
I would like to take the time to point out that the Configuration was nice and easy to copy from one router to the other.

But turned off wireless and still throughput was low with only 1 device connect via the cable.
I have ran all spyware scans already so know there was no issue there.

So turned off QoS and throughput shot up.
Also my Samknows Performance Monitoring box started reporting 74Mbps.

Ok i am still not to happy with the Openreach engineer not fitting the data extension kit but that is a minor point.
