Basically it is a matter of judgement.

If you do hear anything untoward, report it as a PHONE Fault to your Voice Phone Supplier.

Avoid mentioning Broadband, as it then apparently opens up the possiility of charges.

Unfortunately a voice fault also "opens up the possiility of charges."

well i received a call today from fault management team saying there is not fault on the line , he also said i'm getting the right speed on the line 6.9 meg ,even though for the past 12 months i have been getting around 9.5 to 10.5 meg , i was a bit surprised since my ee account it says my line was measured at 12.5 meg
the guy said these figure were wrong as my line can support only 8.5 meg ( bt info)
he then put me through to customer service to double check my account speed ,the lady said maybe a new router might do the trick ( currently brightbox with orange logo on it ) and she also took my monthly payment down to 14£ a month ( all included) with another 12 months contract which i agreed.
i guess my connection is fairly solid so that's the reason why i stick to it however i wonder why the speed has gone down like this ?

This is the problem, from your previous post:

"Upstream 888 (Kbps.)
Downstream 8132 (Kbps.)
Operation Data Upstream Downstream
Noise Margin 16.1 dB 15.0 dB
Line Attenuation 17.3 dB 31.0 dB"

So yes, in a sense, EE fault management where correct when they said your line can only support 8.5Mbps but that is due, at least in part, to the downstream noise margin of 15dB.
