Boot your router each day to wake up the EE upgrade server, what version firmware does your Brightbox router have? wink
It is one of the earliest versions of firmware as it has not been in use, so it will not have been updated. I posted the version earlier in the thread, but here it is again...
Runtime Code Version: v0.09.82.0001-OT (Mon Nov 28 17:30:50 2011)
Boot Code Version: v1.00.09.0002-OT (Wed Nov 9 10:21:21 2011)
ADSL Modem Code Version: A2pD035b.d23i
Hardware Version: 01

Will restarting it actually cause an update? The page you link to says to leave it on over night and they will update it. This is also for an update back in Oct 2012 (after Orange changed to EE branding) which I don't have because my BrightBox was not in use then. Does the advice still stand?

Shows how popular FTTC is in your locality, Just means the Cab has reached the next capacity point, and will need something extended to handle more customers, Could be cards or Ties or even GEs. Ties is usually the longest wait.

Shame you can't afford it, have you considered all the providers, many have similar calls packages whether you are on ADSL or FTTC.

I dont leave my router switched on overnight and it was updated, it was updated only in the daytime. EE say, If you turn your router off at night, you may like to leave it turned on. If not, don't worry - we'll also be updating routers during the day.

It has updated!

I left it on like I usually do and it actually updated just before midday. It sports the EE logo and colours on the interface and it now reads...
Runtime Code Version: v0.10.06.0001-OT-R (Wed Jan 22 22:50:41 2014)
Boot Code Version: v1.00.09.0002-OT (Wed Nov 9 10:21:21 2011)
ADSL Modem Code Version: A2pD035b.d23i
Hardware Version: 01

Only the runtime code version has changed. The ADSL modem code and boot code have not changed, I've noticed a few posts on the forum showing a newer boot code versions than I have. Good job the label on the under side of it has not faded like the stick on label that is on the DGN1000. I had to look for the default password to log back into it.

Calls packages are the problem despite the base prices all being virtually the same. It's the add on extras that cost a couple of pounds each that add up. That coupled with the fact FTTC is generally a little more expensive just puts it out of my budget. I'm working with a very tight margins and that will not change any time soon.
