In my experience (in our village in which TT has LLU presence) I have found that 1400 works best. Some of the time https traffic does not even get through until I drop the MTU from the TT recommended setting of 1492 to 1400. I think that the https traffic is being broken by having it's packets fragmented. In reply to a post by glossywhite:In most cases, yes; Orange = "BT Openreach" = "IPStream" = 1500 MTU.(1500 for O2 and BT, 1492 for Orange/EE)Orange/EE is BT
I'm not sure if this applies to *all* Orange lines, so I would be cautious handing out this MTU as a universal solution
For my Orange/EE (BT) line my router's MTU setting is 1500
