Okay tests are good and not showing what a lot of EE users exhibit

issue is DNS

If the DNS issue was massively slow like 1+ seconds it would be visible as a delay between 0 and downloads starting

Of course if the DNS delay is slow e.g the 150-200ms region it might not be too visible in the test graphs

This graph http://tbb.st/1511704472160974655 shows more of what I was looking for, where we see more of a curve at the start on EE, effectively downloads take time to ramp up to full speed

The DNS are to found under the Basic Tab after you log in. Also under Advanced / Accept / Broadband Settings.

Switch the DNS IP Address to Manual & enter the 2 IPs in Primary & Secondary DNS.

You should only need to factory reset a router as a last resort.

for some reasons i have no broadband settings showing, basic or advance, it just shows Connection with a drop-down next to it, Adsl, Fibre, Ehternet,
to connect it the first time ever i just used the migration wizard and it worked fine

Can I confirm it goes Master Socket - BrightBox 2 directly?

Also why did you use the migration wizard? It should not be required? It comes out the box setup for fibre.

To confirm when the new brightbox arrived, did you remove everything old entirely and start a total fresh e.g. no old modems, no old routers, no old cables, no old brightboxes etc. All gone? Only using what came with that BrightBox 2?

Once you get it like this you will likely need to factory reset the Brightbox, as it wont work in mode ethernet. Factory reset it, you should get online with no need to change a setting, just plug and play. No migration wizard needed. Plug in, away you go (assuming default setup).

here's what i did
yes the set up is like the picture by the way
i was going away the day of activation but for my flatmate would not have internet as they know nothing IT wise so i decided to set it up for them before activation date,
factory setting i did then i set up SSID and sent them password etc...
however it was not working on the day of activation probably due to authentication as password was wrong i think so i what i did, guided her to get the router's interface then told to use migration wizard (which set up the router correctly basically), worked like a charm and got her online, but i guess that's the reason broadband setting are not showing now...

if i do factory setting again? would i need my broadband's details (username, password)?
or it will be saved?
i would need to call EE to get my details in that case
