Joining EE

[link to this post]

I am thinking of moving to EE from Aquiss as tbh I can get a better deal with EE for my FTTP and a sim only plan as well.

What are the honest opinions of EE's service, reliability, value for money etc? I am just after a plain FTTP service, no landline needed.

I am currently on the Fibre 550 plan with Aquiss and would look to move to a similar plan with EE, also I am looking to use my own Router which I understand EE do allow.

Thanks in advance.

CJT.

Currently on Aquiss FTTP 550/70

Previously on NOW TV Broadband up to 38 Mbps, then BT Broadband up to 80Mbps, then Pluse8 Broadband up to 80 Mbps, then Hyperoptic 100Mbps, then TalkTalk Fibre 150 (G.Fast).

I moved to EE a couple of years ago from Aquiss. I have managed to keep reasonable deals for a 500Mb service but the annual increase of £4 is a little hard to swallow. I have 3 unlimited SIMS with them and each gets a £20 per month discount from the standard price so overall I think it is reasonable value for money.

As far as service is concerned I haven't had any issues. I did have a bit of a faff when I recontracted with them and they didn't apply the monthly price agreed and had a couple of calls with their escalations team but they got it sorted in the end.

Hi ian72, thanks for the reply and apologies for not responding sooner.

Sounds like a good deal overall. I have had a great time with Aquiss I just wanted to find a better deal overall.

I can get 150Mb FTTP for £26.99 a month (first 12 months) plus £16.00 per month for the Unlimited Essentials plan - £42.99. Then £30.99 + £18.50 (£2.50 per month increase each year for mobile plan), so year 2 would be £49.49 per month.

I currently pay Aquiss £50 per month plus O2 £12 per month, which is about to rise to £14.50 so that's currently £62 rising to £64.50.

I don't need the extra speeds on the FTTP as it's consistent anyway.

Seems a no-brainer to me!

I moved to EE from Plusnet after Openreach had finally managed to thread fibre to my property. I was happy with Plusnet, but this was the only way I could get FTTP, not pay an early termination charge, and still keep my phone. They've been great for me. I've never contacted customer services with problem, because I haven't had one.

Thanks Timalay,

I took the plunge and ordered FTTP and a Sim Only plan with them. Only "gripe" was the sim ordering process but that's now been resolved.

FTTP is being activated next Wednesday (1/4/26) so I'll report back once that's all done.

I am amazed that its coming up to a year since your disastrous move to the very unhelpful Aquiss (how time flies). Hope all goes well with your move to EE Full Fibre and the savings you will make by doing so smile

I have to say that Martin at Aquiss was very helpful, he did what he could and suggested an alternative which resolved the problem. Having worked for an ISP previously I know how difficult it is to get Openreach to do anything!

Thanks I'm very much looking forward to the savings. smile
