Thought that was Red Dead Redemption but you meant MW3.
You and T2D should go get a room together. MW3 seems to be all you really think about and you're both obviously tanked up for it. You can get it out of your systems and then come back to whinge about BF3 and how it just doesn't do it for you.
It's a shame there's no COD beta for you to play. Guess you could just load up Blops tho? The online action can't be a million miles away...

I thought I'd been constructive on my BF3 opinion. You don't obviously?

That Logic Spook could be applied to yourself and Gzero and a whole host of other Battlefield fans on here.
Yes we are MW and Cod lovers just like you are in the Battlefield camp, its horses for courses mate and each and everyone of us likes different things at different times.
We just prefer the nature that is call of duty, fast and frantic easy to pick up and play and is well suited to a particular run and gun style of gameplay.
Battlefield has its fans and so does MW and Cod games, you are in the PC camp and love Battlefield games and thats fine and dandy my friend, but some of us on here mainly myself and mrnelster just tend to prefer what Cod games bring to the table.
Im not saying Battlefield is a [censored] game its just not a game that i have ever really had much time for,and I'm not talking about the beta because i have played and owned all the previous Battlefield games on a PC and consoles.
I said many months ago that i was well excited about both MW3 and Battlefields but after the beta i was not that impressed, hopefully it may change but your views are based purely on your PC which by all accounts sounds like quite a nice high end system and you have to respect what you are seeing we are clearly not.
You go on about how fantastic Battlefield looks and we say we don't see it and it don't tend to match the videos and the promise Dice made regarding the console versions.
May be the finished version will be another story and that in my eyes would be brilliant, people on here go on about MW3 been just a hash remake and calling it MW 2.5 but i don't care what they think, you don't fix what aint broke and apart from a graphical update or a new engine MW3 can play exactly like the previous games minus the hacks and im well happy.

mrnelster and time2die i now pronounce you man and wife
By the way Spook was the best man

Yes, you make a lovely couple.

Sorry, I made the whinge comment tongue in cheek. The wink was meant to show I was only kidding but you're right, any criticism of BF3 you've had has been constructive as has T2D's (in his own way).
Guess I feel you two are always rabbiting on about MW3. And it's always seems to be in the vein of, 'well, BF3's a turkey then, so let's all focus on good old reliable MW3'. I apologise if it seems I have a peeve against MW3. I don't really. But I do. It's just the constant mentioning of MW3 being a salve to our gaming drought.
Anyway, T2D makes some good points and always says what he's thinking straight. I can't fault that. His thinking's honest and he's open about being simple minded in his love of particular gaming styles. See? I love him too!

I've asked mrnelster for a divorce because my love as always been for my Spook
Im a little funny Spook and i make up my mind about a game within minutes of me seeing it,if its a FPS and i dont like the way the guns aim and fire or the way they look when i hold them and the movement feels wrong then its a bad start .
Lets take Duke Puke Em Forever as a prime example, how long does it take to load up a game like that and realise that was a decade of a total waste of development time with a shambolic game that should never ever had seen the light of day.
I knew this game would be total pants but thought hey give it a go as that gamer instinct in me told me,you know what Spook i traded some games in and picked it up from Blockbusters got home fired it up and within 30 minutes i had walked back to Blockbusters and traded the tripe back in.
Sometimes you get a feel for a particular game and you know within minutes based on the intro, the graphics.the music that this is or is not the type of game you like.
MW and Cod games are those certain games that do it for me,but saying that i am not totally in the Cod camp because i am not really a supporter of anything developed by Treyarch and Black ops for me barely got a look in and to me its not in the same league as Infinity ward developed games even though most of the original team have left.
If MW3 turns out to be a turkey don't worry it will be broadcast all over these forums regardless of how much i enjoyed previous games, based on what i have seen and read about it i doubt it will fail to impress me and if it does then I'm in for one hell of a disappointing Christmas and the next FPS fix for next 12 months

Somehow mate i really don't think this game will be in the same league as the game we are talking about.
Rage is good matey really good and I'm enjoying it though.

Rage is definitely a game of mixed reviews. It's funny how people like myself were quite for it then got totally put off whilst you were always negative about it until the last moment and you bought, me and mrnelster didn't!
I've read a few reviews which shows my consideration for the title but it seems far too tightly controlled for my liking. Some of the levels looked a lot of fun though so I may well look in once I've gotten through my backlog of Steam games.
Glad you're enjoying it though. Duke Pukem was always going to be a turkey. I think you should surrender control of your wallet to us here TBB gamers as your missus clearly isn't doing a very good job!

Thats my little vice my games and she also has a major vice and thats clothes, never known a women buy so many clothes in all my life.
Mind you she would probably say she never met a man that bought so many games

Its very much like borderlands Spook and its a nice little game at present until something else comes along as always and it gets discarded.
I would not say its brilliant but it certainly way better than i thought it would be, and your right about me saying this game did nothing for me and yourself and mrnelster were the keen ones and im the one who ended up buying something i said did not appeal.
Its my biggest vice gaming and nothing puts a smile on my face more than a new game, especially when its a quality product and one i really enjoy which are far and few between.
I have pre/ordered Battlefield once again because it deserves more of my time and i will try to persever and try it out in the proper manner.
Only problem is about 10 days later something you might have heard of comes along and i dare say the temptation will be to great and it will get most of my attention.
To many games released at the same time does not make it easy........

Have a look at this then. Scroll down for the English questions. Sounds like a lot of improvements, but why they have brought back the rolling killstreak and quickscope is beyond me. That will just force me into spec ops and off the multiplayer. Not that that will bother me too much. Your thoughts SPOOK?

The multiplayer is going to shock you especially when it comes from the developers that bought FPS to the forefront.
Apparently in ID wisdom they decided the multiplayer will consist of just some driving game against other people and not your normal online modes.
Coming from the makers of Doom and Quake this is a big surprise aint it ...

What is the online co-op, is that driving as well?

Dont know mate because i don't do online co op as i don't have any friends anymore especially on here
|
|

I only ever really played CODMW for the single player. To be honest, the online mode never really interested me once MW2 came out. Before that I would've likely gotten into MW1 online if I had spent more time learning the maps and stuff and wasn't so preoccupied with - you and T2D are gonna hate me saying this - BF2!
Guess I'm a hypocrite.

As far as I'm concerned co-op is the future of gaming. You'll never stop the cheats or fix the lagging. I actually really enjoyed the BFBC1 online demo. But when the game launched it lagged terribly so I skipped BC2.
I stuck with COD because the maps were smaller and you didn't have to run all the way to the front (or fight over a vehicle) to get back to the action.
I quite enjoyed the gameplay of the BF3 beta. Just didn't like the visuals. If the install size adds textures, it could make up a bit for the frame rate.

Well I bought Rage and it does have online co-op that involves shooting!
It's good fun but the shooting mechanic is a lot clumsier than I would have expected.

I like the idea of playing co-op but have yet to do so. Part of the blame is for Windows Gaming Live or whatever it is as it just didn't work when I tried it out for GoW on the PC. The other is my laziness and failure to look more into it. When I was a kid on the Spectrum I dreamed of the day 2 people could co-operatively play a single player game; now we have the reality and I still haven't tried it out.
Fighting for vehicles is back with a vengeance in BF3. I wish DICE would implement some kind of fairplay queuing system (if only for us Brits who apparently like queuing for things). I find it extremely annoying when people queue jump and fight over jets and things. It wouldn't even be that hard to fix and it's just pathetic and very very degrading witnessing some of the lowest forms of human behaviour online and realising if you want to prosper you need to join them and act like a selfish ass too.
|
|
|
Its a lot better than i expected and nothing more, not long now and you will have the fps that you really should like if all things go to plan and if the previews are anything to go by.
Spook we don't hate you for liking Battlefield matey enjoy it,just that some of us about 30 million like MW games better.

This little piece actually sums up my feelings really regarding the next MW3 and what needs changing and what should be left as it is.
Read the last paragraph about MW3 and thats it in a nutshell for me.
ARTICLE
Probably best describes my thoughts as to why i love MW so much.
Quote...
The shooting components are some of the most refined in the industry. The combat is smooth, fun and frantic without too much of an arcade feel to it and that's more than likely why everyone loves it. Call of Duty has done a lot of great things for gaming in general, but the initial impact of that greatness has worn off and the developers and Activision need to take some of that money they've been stockpiling for years and upgrade the engines. I want to be impressed by the next Call of Duty the way I was with RAGE or the series just doesn't deserve the attention it's getting.
