The multiplayer is going to shock you especially when it comes from the developers that bought FPS to the forefront.

Apparently in ID wisdom they decided the multiplayer will consist of just some driving game against other people and not your normal online modes.

Coming from the makers of Doom and Quake this is a big surprise aint it ...

What is the online co-op, is that driving as well?

I only ever really played CODMW for the single player. To be honest, the online mode never really interested me once MW2 came out. Before that I would've likely gotten into MW1 online if I had spent more time learning the maps and stuff and wasn't so preoccupied with - you and T2D are gonna hate me saying this - BF2!

Guess I'm a hypocrite. tongue

As far as I'm concerned co-op is the future of gaming. You'll never stop the cheats or fix the lagging. I actually really enjoyed the BFBC1 online demo. But when the game launched it lagged terribly so I skipped BC2.

I stuck with COD because the maps were smaller and you didn't have to run all the way to the front (or fight over a vehicle) to get back to the action.

I quite enjoyed the gameplay of the BF3 beta. Just didn't like the visuals. If the install size adds textures, it could make up a bit for the frame rate.

Knowing how it works is completely different to understanding how it works.

Well I bought Rage and it does have online co-op that involves shooting!

It's good fun but the shooting mechanic is a lot clumsier than I would have expected.

I like the idea of playing co-op but have yet to do so. Part of the blame is for Windows Gaming Live or whatever it is as it just didn't work when I tried it out for GoW on the PC. The other is my laziness and failure to look more into it. When I was a kid on the Spectrum I dreamed of the day 2 people could co-operatively play a single player game; now we have the reality and I still haven't tried it out.

Fighting for vehicles is back with a vengeance in BF3. I wish DICE would implement some kind of fairplay queuing system (if only for us Brits who apparently like queuing for things). I find it extremely annoying when people queue jump and fight over jets and things. It wouldn't even be that hard to fix and it's just pathetic and very very degrading witnessing some of the lowest forms of human behaviour online and realising if you want to prosper you need to join them and act like a selfish ass too.

Its a lot better than i expected and nothing more, not long now and you will have the fps that you really should like if all things go to plan and if the previews are anything to go by.

This little piece actually sums up my feelings really regarding the next MW3 and what needs changing and what should be left as it is.

Read the last paragraph about MW3 and thats it in a nutshell for me.

ARTICLE

Probably best describes my thoughts as to why i love MW so much.

Quote...
The shooting components are some of the most refined in the industry. The combat is smooth, fun and frantic without too much of an arcade feel to it and that's more than likely why everyone loves it. Call of Duty has done a lot of great things for gaming in general, but the initial impact of that greatness has worn off and the developers and Activision need to take some of that money they've been stockpiling for years and upgrade the engines. I want to be impressed by the next Call of Duty the way I was with RAGE or the series just doesn't deserve the attention it's getting.
