Ok can get BF3 for £20, is the DLC worth buying ? Which would mean shelling out for the premium edition? Crimbo present for my son on the 360, it was ether this or Blops2 but he is swayed towards this due to BF2!

I mostly play the standard maps, plenty for him to be going on with and get the extra later when he's fallen in love with it

Aftermath Wow!!!!!

[re: time2die] [link to this post]

I only got to play 3 maps last night but I was blown away, I've never seen such detail put into the surroundings. The maps are amazing, better than anything I've ever played before. Very big with endless passages and multi levels etc but still full of action. They really have been very well thought out.
The other map packs were good but nothing compared to Aftermath

If anyone is thinking of getting a MP FPS then you have to try BF3 with Aftermath you won't be disappointed

Thanks T2D I'll give lego a miss for the moment smile

Will you stop it..........I would have been tempted to go out and buy Battlefield again if i was not getting Far Cry 3 tomorrow.

Might possibly be worth looking into in the future though when games are in decline.

You sure you don't work for Dice Swanny wink
At the end of the day you been banging on about this game for the best part of 12 months so it holds your interest and it has obvious Potential.

I really think that i will revisit the game again once I've done with Far Cry 3 .

Managed a few games last night before I had to go out and now have the xbow
To get it you need to win 3 games of scavenger
Supposed to be One shot kill although I hit one chap who killed me before I could reload and he had something like 6% health left

Yeah, I'm using one of those tablet things to type and it's just a bit of a pita communicating (especially with auto word guess thing turned on). Well, you're spared from my long rantings till I get back on my laptop.

So, what thread is this then? Far Cry or Battlefield? Reckon I will get them both when they're cheaper. He he.

Aftermath does look awesome graphically but I'm conscious of getting involved with lag again so I'll probably give it a miss and pick up FC3. It still makes me angry that there can't be an accurate ping rating for games.

Can you set a tight ping range if you rent a server do you know?

Yes - PC's rule, and PS3's drool...

I did limit mine to a maximum ping of 28 (2 x my ping plus a bit extra).

Not really as not many UK people joined smile

Unfortunately it looks like most UK players use the console version for some strange reason...

Played two long rounds, and enjoying it. More up/down vertical play seems possible, lots of places to explore but had no time yet, as playing conquest can be pretty busy if you want to win

But overall, the update system and time and whatnot was rather a mess

Not played scavenger yet, the Aftermath maps are a nice mix of tank/infantry. Flying around a sky scraper is not easy smile

The quakes are an interesting mid game scene change, also finding little passageways through buildings slowly

I'm not a fan of scavenger.
If you play on the Epi-centre map there's a pipe you can crawl through, I think it's on Charley flag (it has a dinosaur in it) once you're through to the other side you get a trophy :/

The maps are really good, still learning the passage ways, though the amount of snipers on buildings and anti tank mines is a bit crazy.

Its a shame that more couldn't have been made with the aftershocks - a bit of a camera shake and a few sound effects doesn't elicit danger.

But then it was apparently dumbed down for PS3 users, as it's processors couldn't handle too much...

No it was Tuesday just gone you doh ball !

Coming from an encyclopaedia of battlefield information how could you get your release dates so wrong smile

As i just stated i bought the Battlefield game again because like i said i thought it was pretty decent online and now with you raving every 2 minutes about everything battlefield i thought i would get the premium edition with all the extra content.

Seems now i have just realised i need not have bothered since it seems i already paid for the extra premium content when i first bought the dam game in the first place.

When i put it in the disk tray this afternoon knowing there would be some massive updates and stuff i got quite a surprise to see how many.

First of there was a 1.6 gig update, then another 1.5 hd texture pack to see it better, then there was 4 map maps around 9 gig ..........Jez its still downloading.

Well this is Battlefield large maps and destrouction so its going to be a few large downloads but most games are this way now- few that come with all the content but hey nearly 30 gig for a fps game.

Yeah i know mate, just glad i did not take the wrapper of this evening for a quick look at the new aftermath map pack and all the rest else i would have been starring at a download screen for about 4 hours.

Even after all the download of the data i still loaded Far Cry 3 instead for my second play through wink
