Your upgade is about 7 times better then the previous card you where on, so will be good for a few years, should not be a problem with most games though Shogun does have issues.

yea should be all good i did have a Nvidia 550ti which TBH played almost all my games maxed out except sonic generations in my last desktop, I sold that pc to switch to a gaming laptop and then decided i preferred desktop, My cuz wanted a laptop for DJing so sold him laptop and started to built a new desktop but never got round to getting a gfx card and got that 4850 given to put me on but when ya skint last thing on your minds new gfx card lol i manged to build the main system but had to use some of the cash off the laptop to pay a few bills too, So while ive had money from a temp job i got my self a new mon and gfx card, As you say it should last a few years so its a worth while upgrade, I used to have a Nvidia 8800 gts 640meg it lasted me about 4 years but it did start to show its age when even WOW started to play badly on it lol so im hoping this card might last that long

I used to have a 8800GTX but went to a 5870 which im still on now, both where 300 pound cards though now i would look to spend about 150-250 max on a gpu- is pretty easy to go sli/crossfire and get good performance.
