Unboxing videos are almost always uninteresting no matter what it is. I usually only look at them AFTER I've bought said item but am waiting for it to arrive.

Nothing wrong with external power brick. Easier to replace if it goes faulty.

If you think the console unboxing is boring, you should see the headset unboxing!

What an annoying voice that bloke has

Its an interesting voice...I suppose I'm used to it as I listen to Major Nelsons podcasts when I walk to work.

Never did understand why they even bothered including some plastic mono headset when most gamers would be chucking it straight in the bin and getting out some Turtle Beach or something far superior in quality.

Suppose its good for the teeny bopper crowd.

Not all unboxing are uninteresting,Samsung Galaxy 4 was pretty decent,not really keen on the mouthpiece Major Nelson and they are going to have to come up with some mind blowing games to make me invest as i see no reason in owning 2 consoles and i have made my choice long ago.

I think they have to throw the headset in so you have something to use while you are looking for a cheap adaptor for your current headset.

Why on earth MS decided to go with a new propietry headset connector for the Xbox 1 is beyond me. All it does is get people annoyed with lack of compatability and somebody in China will be banging out cheap adaptors in a matter of weeks.

Anyways had some [censored] awful news this week after the trip to the hospital and wandered into Game and bagged a Vita with 8 gig memory card, 10 games downloads and a 30 day PSN+ pass for £160.

Should go nicely with the PS4.

The vast majority will use the headset that came with the console. If there was no headset you'd end up with the same situation you have with the PS3 where almost no one talks (although considering most of the [censored] you get on XBL sometimes thats no bad thing)

This whole headset thing has been last minute.

A couple of weeks back there was a news story saying that MS expected people to use the Kinetic for voice chat and when the headset was mentioned in a UK distributors catalogue it was corrected by MS as a "mistake".

Seems that whoever is in charge of this launch needs to put an entire blackout on news at the moment until they get their act together as this whole launch is turning into a terrible PR farce for MS.

Very true - but have you seen that thing they call a headset they are including with the PS4?

Not really as I have a load of bluetooth headsets I'll be pairing up one of them to the console.

Sony had already said that they will already work.

It is crazy though Sony having to put out press releases saying that nothing is changing due to the constant demands of journalists asking Sony their position when MS open their mouth,

Hopefully they will improve the quality of Bluetooth audio from the PS4 as the PS3 was pretty bad.

Like i said you don't use the cheap headsets bundled with consoles if you are really into games,if your investing in a £350 to £400 console and a load of games or at least a couple then another £100 is not really an issue for a decent headset.

I just Glad My Turtle Beach PX5 will work with the Playstation 4 and i have not got to go out and buy another one.

Not seen the so called headset bundled with the Playstation 4,but it does not matter as i would never use it,besides you hit the nail on the head with not many people talk anyway and trying to get a few mature adults together is nigh on impossible.

First thing i generally do when playing a online game is Mute everybody because all i here is [censored] and sreaming kids in the background and idiots playing music.

The vast majority of console users over the lifetime of the console will use whatever is bundled with it. I use a 5.1 surround sound system with mine but still use the bundled headset and I just don't see the point of spending money for a bit of voice comms that the standard one does just fine.

Again the Bluetooth audio is fine if you invest in a decent headset.

Roll on Pax because i want a confirmed release date and not the Playstation 4 will ship this year in Europe and everybody guessing when.

Im sticking my head out and saying end of October first week November to tie in with Battlefield 4 release and most the other new games.

Biggest surprise to me is GTA5 not on next generation and so close to the the console releases,I'm planning on dumping my Playstation 3 in a few months as i have no need once the playstation 4 surfaces.

Im hoping that The Last of us gets ported as i will miss not playing that game but thats about it.

Not true - the quality on PS3 is awful compared to the 360. I've got one of those 360 wireless headsets that does Bluetooth as well. Sounds fine on the 360, fine connected to both my wife's and my mobile and terrible connected to the PS3. Most people I've spoken to have said the same thing. Also tried a separate bluetooth headset - same thing.

That makes no sense. Audio quality out of the standard wired headset for the 360 is pretty good. Probably limited more by codec than anything else.

I am going to be extremely controversial here and agree with T2D on something.... I know, an historic moment in TBB forum history.

I use the Xbox 360 Wireless Headset and it is great for just playing COD Zombies for instance and chatting to mates, but if I want to really really get into a game then a Turtle Beach is awesome! The sound quality, the bass and the surround sound all create an immersive experience that really allows you to get lost in the game!

A great example of this is Alan Wake, I used my housemates Turtle Beach headset for that and it was brilliant sitting there late at night with no lights on and just the spooky background noise and sounds of the game.

Now that is Controversial me getting a Brownie point from me old matey Jaxx.

I never had any audio problems using my PX5 on either the playstation 3 or 360.

Looks like they gotcha Time2die as the mere fact you have posted about it means traffic will be driven to the site.

As for the Xbox One I have already placed my order for a PS4 as I don't trust MS at all now.

There is no hiding places anymore,placed my Playstation 4 order back in Feb after the Sony Conference .

Like you i dont trust Microsoft anymore and have little faith in what they offer and what they do once they get a installed user base.

Would not surprise me if they do a DRM scandal in 12 months time.

Yeah but im not talking about using the headset for sound I mean just audio chat in game. I use my surround sound for that.

For purely voice chat which is what that headset is for it is perfectly adequate.

Is it a pre-production model or are they already out in the States ?

It's what you are going to get in the box pre/ production or not,no that are not out in the states and this will be a worldwide release at the same time just like the playstation 4 .

All we need is confirmed dates and hopefully the Pax expo will answer that question ?

If they can u turn that quickly they have the means to do an about turn once again if sales pick up.

I totally understand the need to try to prevent people copying disks but if I have paid for that licence I should be able to lend the disk to a mate if I want to as it may well persuade him or her to purchase their own copy as it has done when I've lent my disks out.

Then there's the Kinect requirement, seriously what do you need that for?

Motion controlled gaming i hate with a passion and i have tried them all from the Nintendo Wii to the Kinect and the playstation move...........All discarded within a few weeks .

I like sitting back and relaxing when I'm gaming not running around like some demented idiot waving my arms around and having to calibrate the trash every 10 minutes.

There would be a few red faces if the contents significantly change

expect a few dozen or so of these to popup from people on youtube when microsoft start giving out their free samples (jn return for favourable reviews).

even worse tho is the reviews that arent really a review but just someone rehashing the advertised features to you.

eg. I just brought this keyboard it does X and it does Y and this Z function (like they reading of the box). Without actually reviewing the qualiy of the keys etc.
