Shopto.net..15 Playstation 4 bundles just Announced

Since i have quite a bit of stuff on order with Shopto.net regarding the Playstation 4 it was nice to receive a email this evening stating that they now have 15 bundles on offer recently announced by Sony.

So having ordered Watchdogs ,Battlefield 4 and Killzone Shadow fall it was nice to see that all these were available in a nice bundle.

For those wandering if they will lose there Playstation 4 console if you ordered some time ago fear not,in the email they say just login to your account and your pre/orders and there they have added the facility to swap for one of those gorgeous bundles that obviously works out a little cheaper.

Once you hit the swap button by the side of your pre/order you get the option to pick the bundle of your choice,and then obviously you have to cancel some of your games on pre/order if you have them now in the bundle.

And the nice thing is the date you originally ordered still remains,in my case 20 feb.

Oh and they have the official Sony Charging Kit that i have been waiting for as well which is now ordered .

Going to be a extremely expensive day come November 29th But a extremely exciting one as well

Well, looking at those bundles I'm tempted to just go for the console to start with as my PS+ is up for renewal a fair bit before release.

Those bundles don't interest me thanks

wait for good games to arrive as whats announced is all junk to me and I need the claimed cloud service up and running for BC as another requirement and of course for the console to drop to a reasonable price which will be for me at least below the £300 mark but preferably below £200 which I expect will be at least 2 years from now.

Ironically the PS3 got bad press for been too pricey at launch yet these are very expensive.

Playstation 3 was £399 at launch this is £349 go figure......

And thats 7 years later when you would think the price would have been more given the specifications and much improved Ram.

So Watchdogs,Battlefield 4 and Killzone Shadowfall are all junk are they and you have played them.

No point in having a brand new shiny console mate and no software to use it........Must be something there that interests you.

Sorry mate. What I meant was I will leave my pre order as console only (as the bundles don't appear to be saving you any money) and choose games closer to the time. Most likely Shadowfall and the free to play stuff will see me through a proper bo crimbo, then see what the New Year brings.

I keep changing my mind, but the games that interest me the most after Christmas are:

Second Son
The Division
Destiny

....in that order.

Now this is more like the bundle I expected from shopto.net.

Yeah there is not a huge saving a grant you that and i hope that when the bundle arrives i have the proper cases with the games.

Think when i changed to the bundle with the games Killzone Shadowfall,Watchdogs and Battlefield 4 i only saved about £30.

All those games you mention i want to but i should have plenty to tide me over until Infamous arrives next March.

Fair enough if you want to wait for more games but £349 is a very reasonable price for a new console. It might be under £300 in a few years but £200? PS3 is only just under that amount now (with decent HDD) so you will have a very long wait.

I doubt Sony is making much if any profit selling at £349

Sorry am I hearing you right,this is the guy that said he was not upgrading and quite happy with Battlefield 4 on his playstation 3 .

Graphics alone wont make a game great but they are one of the factors which contribute to it.

wrpg's as well but not as much as jrpg's and only if its not a first person view. (oblivion is exception).

Also games based in fantasy or historical worlds which are becoming rarer.

Graphics like many aspects of game help but my point was its not the prime reason I am into a game. I personally put graphics behind gameplay, longevity and sound in importance. I also put it behind cost. If a game has to sell for £60 with £40 of DLC because they had a budget of 200million for the in game graphics then there is something wrong. To me graphics got good enough in the 360/ps3 gen, they are good enough to see what you doing and have nice backgrounds etc. The ps4/xbox1 gen seems to exist to satisy FPS gamers who crave high resolutions and 60fps. Microsoft and sony for a long while didnt even want the next gen to come as making new consoels costs money and a userbase has to be built up again. But it seems the big western developers are strugging to innovate and their main way of selling new games now is enhanced visuals.

In the next gen many jap developers are moving to cheaper platforms as visuals sucks up too much budget and development time take budget and dev time away from gameplay and making it too hard to make a profit. This I am not happy with as gaming on mobile devices is horrific, this is why I see the market shrinking, in years to come aaa games will be limited to a few genres.

It seems when I said none of these new games excite me I am not allowed to have an opinion?

Actually I lie, that new rome game announced looks like i may like as it looked to have a strategical element to it, but then I seen lots of QTE's in it which put me off.

No mate your well entitled to have any opinion,butto say those mentioned games look rubbish is a little harsh when you have never played them or because they are not your type of game.

This makes no sense. Sony made a big deal about supporting indie developers at Gamescom - there are 34 known titles for PS4 (many on Vita also). Seems to me these smaller developers are thriving.

count the number of jrpgs on ps2 and compare to ps3, its a sharp decline.

none yet announced for the ps4.

square-enix the main jrpg AAA developer are reviewing their entire company and have already said their focus is shifting to mobile.

konami almost went bankrupt but vesperia ps3/jap version DLC costume sales saved them. Their games use anim.cartoon type graphics, they dont need ps4 hardware. Although they still been making ps3 games they have also commented in public they need to reduce cost of their games and are likely to shift to other platforms. Already most of their games are on portables.

tri-ace last game was star ocean 4, no more star ocean games, star ocean 4 on the 360 was subsidised by microsoft and that game was launched very early in the 360/ps3 era. tri-ace seem all but dead, although they helped square enix with ff13-2.

ff13-3 is looking more like an action game with rpg elements than a true jrpg, so square enix is also westernising their games, likely due to the shift of focus to graphics and their pampering to western players. ff13-3 is a ps3 not ps4 game.

square are making ff15 for the ps4. although its in dev not going to be launched soon.

I agree with you there is lots of indie dev activity but how much of the games are good, some are good, but also is a lot of trash, some commentators have compared the current situation to the 1980s game crash where quality games were reduced (current shrinkage of AAA titles to few genres) and a influx of low quality games. Also most of the indie activity is on the pc with steam and mobiles not the consoles. Molyneux seems to have abandoned consoles it doesnt fit with his vision, his new game is debuting on steam during septemeber (beta) and will also be on android/ios. His development costs as a result are a fraction of what they would be on console.

Now microsoft do own a jrpg company, that made lost oddysey and blue dragon, both good games, lost oddysey in fact was excellent and in my opinion a tie in with vesperia for best jrpg of current gen lost oddysey 2 was originally planned also but since microsoft failed to crack the jap market I think they have abandoned any new jrpg's they will fund. I assume they think its not worth making jrpgs for western gamers.

I have got my phone able to output to a monitor with a mhl cable, an app to keep the audio out the phone whilst using the cable (as otherwise sound doesnt work since monitor got no speakers) and I also brought a moga gamepad for my phone, some custom univeral driver someone made supposedbly makes this gamepad able to work on any android game, which if it does mobile gaming becomes viable as then have a gamepad and big screen, but so far I havent been able to get the android version of ff3 to work with this gamepad.

I think within 3 years mobile smartphones will be capable of doing hdmi output trivially (already are in fact) and have better support for prepherials, at this point any genre that doesnt need hd resolution graphics will likely be developed for mobile devices instead as its way cheaper and 100s of millions of people own smartphones. Not only is it cheaper to develop but also less licensing issues and easier to sell with google play etc. Thats why can get games for £1 on there vs £5-10 (budget price) on a console.

This is what my prediction is really. I think the ps4/xbox1 are the last consoles that will exist, after that consoles wont be relevant. It will be cloud and mobile gaming, pc's will keep their place but will be a small market.

I don't know anything about jrpg's and do not see myself wanting to play one so I will have to take your word on that.

Seems like the logical thing to move to streaming/cloud based services the big problem though is the broadband infrastructure, developed countries may have superfast connections available everywhere by say 2020 but what about the rest of the world?

Im thinking he means Japanese roll playing games like the Boring Final Fantasy games when you walk along the map then an enforced battle happens after 30 seconds,you then walk a little more and another enforced battle commences 30 seconds later and so on and so on.

Japanese developers used to be the bees knees now its the western developers that are far superior with little in the way of any quality coming from the east.

The only game i can think of that can possibly compete with the likes of Rockstar,Naughty Dog and UbiSoft is the game The Last Guardian that we have been waiting years for.

sony will be testing the market when they introduce the BC cloud service on the ps4, this cloud service wil also work on the vita and other devices they said as well.

The advantages of cloud is it means never needing to sell consoles for it and of course its a lower entry cost to consumers as they dont need to buy a console. The hardware that processes the data is in the cloud and the end user only needs a device that can access the cloud service. Companies like sony dont like to keep rolling out new consoles it costs them money. Plus when hardware gets outdated it requires a new console whilst thats not a problem on cloud services. So personally i think its inevitable, its just a question of when, for people with lacking broadband connections it will become a point where they will be acceptable collateral damage. Not yet, but at some time which I think will be at the end of this generation.

Microsoft also have plans for this, they have been touting as having games doing some processing in the cloud so is not all onboard offline processing.

I could also say boring call of duty where you walk in circles shooting a gun.

there is less AAA games now as I already said to you the jap developers are abandoning these consoles due to cost of developing visuals. Dispite this eastern developed rpg's have easily outdone western ones this generation. Gameplay beats graphics every time.

You could and in some respects you would be right and like you say each to there own,not me that came on here saying that Watchdogs,killzone Shadowfall and Battlefield 4 were basically Rubbish before anyone has ever played them.

to me they rubbish, thats my personal opinion, obviously I respect to others they godly games.

I will also acknowledge that its a numbers game and the majority of people now days are into these sort of games hence they have came to dominate the western markets. In the past less popular games could still be viable to make and release so there was more a spread of generes but because now budgets are so high its essentially becoming a survival of the fittest situation.

A western game I did like fable, I dont think we going to see a fable 4. My sort of games just dont seem to fit the modern gaming mindset. The games been focused on now are mainly multiplayer games and kinect. they are more profitable.

Although there is this game which is something for me to look forward to.

Kinect is dead in the water and does not interest serious gamers and was one of the many Microsoft reveals that got peoples backs up.

Having to have there new Kinect plugged in and functioning to have the xbox one working is a ridiculous idea especially if you have no interest in motion controlled gaming.

Xbox one ships with kinect bundled in the box but i would say the majority of gamers would have opted for the cheaper package without kinect if that was a option.

yeah noone likes kinect but its their baby so they keep focusing on it.

I wish all these demos were downloadable and playable. I hate seeing things like this 2nd hand and been able to play demos myself can really motivate me to buy a game. They make the demos but then only let media reporters play them.

I know they think its there baby but surely having seen little in the way of interest and little in the way of decent software for it why bother.

Nintendo wii nailed this some 6 years ago and every family in the world bought one as it was fun if you liked this sort of thing for 30 minutes,but that phase has now finished and Nintendo have been caught with there trousers down and are now heading the same way as the Sega Dreamcast with there new WII U nobody wants and nobody cares about with little in the way of any decent first party Nintendo Games or 3rd party developers jumping ship at a alarming rate.

Only the Pikmin 3 has my interest and once the Playstation 4 and Xbox one hit the scene In November i fear the worse for Nintendo with there way under powered console and the arrival of far better next generation consoles.

normally i would have been at a midnight launch for a new console but both the Nintendo Wii U and the Xbox One don't interest me in the slightest both for different reasons and one of them been Microsoft initial idea that had my blood boiling and has basically put me right of anything Microsoft does.

Only some draw dropping games in the future may change my mind but even then i would be hesitant .
