I was going to say you got to laugh haven't you,but in all honesty I think I should be saying to the loyal first day supporters of next generation consoles .....You got to cry

Not originally tempted to buy a Xbox One I decided to take the plunge just before last Christmas at a cost of £449.99 if my memory serves me correctly.

That was for a console with [censored] Kinnect nobody wanted included.

Fast forward 12 months and the television is flooded with both Playstation 4 and Xbox One deals.

How about a Xbox One plus 3 games and a extra controller for £349.99....Thanks Microsoft for thanking your loyal supporter base that bought your overpriced product with nothing included with it.

Same can be said for Sony and there 3 game deals at the same price.......Seriously I think it shouldn't be allowed or at best day one buyers who bought at inflated prices with nothing included should get something back in return for there loyalty ,because without the hardcore there would be no Gaming division in the first place .

I know things become cheaper as time goes by but I really do think they owe first time day one buyers something in return for there loyalty ...

Guess they think that millions are not prepared to wait and want the goods yesterday,guess they are correct and suckers like myself will pay over the odds for a product as I'm not prepared to wait 12 months down the line...

Generally big companies do not reward your loyalty so do not give them any in return, do what is best for you. Just look at broadband the best deals are always for new customers, half price/free for X months and a load of money via Cashback yet existing customers just get price rises.

Think you nailed it in your last sentence, they know there will always be people who want things right away. Same goes for game devs releasing unfinished games.

If you were a true hardcore console supporter and got an XB1 you would of got the day one edition which came with either Fifa 14 or Forza.

forza didn't come with a Xbox One 12 months ago so what planet you on,Forza got released just 2 months ago.

And there was no Fifa either and i wouldn't have given a [censored] because i hate sports games.

I'm still waiting for the PS4 to have some must have deals , just not quite there yet , hopefully next year , as nether console IMHO are doing any really great deals in our region if you look at the prices across the pond ..

RIP off Britain is my biggest axe to grind ..

Edit : actually seen the PS4 deal from Argos and the fact i can get 12 months interest free credit , think i have found my Christmas present .

Fifa 14 came with the pre orders of the day one edition of the xbox one console in Nov 2013 I should know I got one with it as did my friends LOL. They also did ones with Forza 5 for people who didnt want Fifa.

1) It was just a joke as Timey calls himself a hardcore console gamer.
2) Either game was FREE with the pre order of the console so you would be daft to order one without if it was a pre order as even if you didnt want the game you could just sell it for £35 on ebay etc that loads of people did and knock that off the price of the console.

I am a hardcore mate and the only reason I did an about turn was Microsoft original reveal....remember .

I'm still regretting buying it until this day,it's become a giant paperwaite and never used.

Actually I didn't actually call myself a hardcore gamer is was a general quote for people that went out and supported both Microsoft and Sony with there new next generation consoles on the day of release at inflated prices ,obviously inflated because they couldn't do the deals they are now offering 12 months later...

If anyone does qualify for hardcore gamer on here it's certainly me given what dish I spend on gaming in general.

Someone that buys a product on day of release I consider hardcore,I don't just mean once I mean everytime a new generation or product surfaces and gets released .

I won't dare tell him.....I spent £700 on a imported Japanese Playstation 2 because in those days Europe had to wait at least 12 months after the Japanese launch and at least 6 after the U.S. launch.

Same with the Dreamcast,same with the GameCube ......now everything is released within days so no need to import....

I'm only joking with you mate, I would consider you a hardcore console owner with the amount you spend, It was just a little dig that you didn't get the XB1 on pre order when a hardcore console owner would of Again just taking the mick because you have both the XB1 and PS4 so clearly are a big console owner.

For me a fanboy is someone who just raves about one of them and slams the other side, Think yourself and your love of the PS4 but imagine you didn't have the XB1 (again just joking).

I used to import games for the PS2 as well although I got a chip fitted so my UK PS2 could play any region game as well because of the differing release dates, It also made the dvd part of it region free as well so I could watch US dvds 6months or so before they were available over here (often had them as they were hitting the cinema over here).

It's hard to get across sarcasm on a forum, I for one don't give a flying feck what people have or prefer to play etc,A gamer is a gamer as far as I'm conserned, I've loved my Spectrum computer, Amiga 500+, SNES, Megadrive, PS1 and PS2, Xbox , Xbox 360 and Xbox One and have built myself a PC that cost around £1000 (well £800 acually as the £330 motherboard actually cost me £130 after an amazon missprice), So I have no alliances to either side. If it wasn't for the (IMO) superior controller and online on the XB1 I would of made the switch back to the PS side of things but those things matter to me most in gaming so I can do without the subtle little difference in graphics that you can only really notice on some games if you stand still and look at the scenery close up. (If I really gave a hoot about graphics I'd use my PC)

I think you posted about this before and my reply is the same as before, this happens with all sorts of products, early adopters pay the most.

LCD tv's when a brand new tech would cost you thousands of pounds, brand new PC hardware costs extra the day its released, this also occured with theprevious gen of consoles as well. It is basic economics, you want it early, you pay more. Also the fact over time manufacturing costs go down.

I am hurting myself currently, so annoyed with amazon, I pre ordered kingdom hearts 2.5 hd remix limited edition, then got an email saying delayed till mid december, then another email saying delayed until after christmas, and when I rang they said the shipping date is 'unknown', I preordered 2 months in advance, how can they manage to understock it? since the limited edition is no longer made amazon have screwed me over, and now I have tried to order it from other places who claim to have in stock only to find they dont. Wont pre order from amazon again. I wlll probably end up having to buy the standard copy of game and dont get a limited version or buying a used copy for a inflated price.

I assumed that it was common knowledge that the XB1 pre-orders came with Fifa or Forza for FREE and that was my little sarcastic cheeky dig at Timey that he clearly didn't pre-order one as in his original post he mentioned that nothing was included in it when it actually was, As was the comment about him not being a hardcore console gamer when he clearly is, The crazy fool ends up buying games on genres that he doesn't really like especially when the said game is mainly an online racer that is reliant on using the PS network that is very poor (yup this is another cheeky dig this time at the PSN).

Yup M$ shot themselves in the foot there and Sony fully capitalised and changed some of there policies and re-wrote the script to really capitalise on the hate that the always online and no 2nd hand games caused, It would of really been interesting to have seen what would of happened if Sony had released news first (obviously not going to happen at E3 as M$ are day one) as a lot of people in the know said that Sony and M$ had agreed to the no 2nd hand games policy and a few other things but this all changed when the backlash of the MS plans were released (although Sony for sure didn't have the always on option) which IMO was probably put there by M$ to try to stop piracy of games when the security gets cracked on the consoles that the 360 version had as it really makes no sense.

I'm sure i mentioned before I would of made the jump to PS4 myself but wanted to see if they upgraded the network (which they don't seem to have done much about) and see what the controller was like (the PS3 controller was shocking especially the triggers) and after seeing the controller (even though it is a vaste improvement on the PS3) it's still not as good as the XB1 controller, Just my opinion of course but that's what I base my decisions on.

M$ were always going to do a U-turn on a lot of the things after the backlash they got so I wasn't really worried.

I'll prob give FC4 a go at sometime when I get around to it, I've got a few games here to get through and am really getting into Destiny now in co-op (was pretty rubbish playing on own)

I think generally my patience with a lot of games is sadly on the decline,had destiny for about a week and i found it all hype over substance and not the game i truly expected,Drive club didn't fair much better and that was also soon ditched quite rapidly because of the online issues still not fixed 6 weeks later.

Personally i really enjoyed Watchdogs but lots of people were sadly disappointed in the end product,but from what i have played this year so Far then Far Cry 4 has my vote as my favourite game of 2014.

I'm still to open Dragon Age Inquisition and GTA5 which obviously i have played before.

Yeah there was a rumour that both Sony and Microsoft were going to do the same thing,but since Microsoft went first with there presentation Sony got wise at the mauling Microsoft received and went ahead and won the masses.

Only Sony representatives will know the real truth as to what they would have done originally had Microsoft not received such negative press and responses .

I'm going to make this my last post on the matter posted below why my original "statement" was a joke and the reasons why as we are just going back and forth over nothing.

I made the assumption that everyone would think that Timey is a hardcore gamer as to me he clearly is with all the purchases he's made going by his posts on here and clearly you didn't think I was thinking that he was (otherwise it would be read as a joke) so that's my fault.

didn't realise they were free as I don't see how it could be daft to get a console with a FREE game rather than paying the same price and just getting the console.

Hey mate he is a wind up merchant and so am I and the first to admit it,he generally is a nice guy having played and talked to him online.

I think sometimes these Gaming forums become extremely quiet for weeks on end and people then comment on things generally they wouldn't bother with.

I made a comment last night and I thought it wasn't really something I wanted to say so I deleted it.

Like he says mate he has no fear about disagreeing with my points of view over the years even though deep down he knows I'm always right and he's always wrong but I turn a blind eye and humour him .

It's hard trying to put active new posts on the forum as I'm constantly bombarded with requests to help Nelly and Swanny in Far Cry 4 co/op.....that's actually finding the Co/op in the settings menu

AC Unity is not bad, still a few bugs in the game but its a nice addition to the AC series, though their is quite a bit of online play needed to unlock certain items etc.
