For 2 reasons..........
1/ My dear Mother is here and thats basically Gaming out.
2/ Its a online only game apparently and the servers don't go live until Midnight Monday.
So I'm going to stare at it for 3 days instead
Gutted!
I on the other hand have spent the whole evening on PC with Project Cars.
Lovely jubbly.
I have been drinking cider and watching Queen at Knebworth 86

Server start times for The Division.
Looks like Monday night then for me anyway

On the ps
Did you?
Yep
Started playing it last night and as i expected i really love this game, the first hour is completely new and none of that content was in the closed or open beta.
Only played for about 90 minutes and only at level 4 but i know that i am going to spend a lot of time with this game as its one of those games you just can not wait to play.
I like the fact that you can change the difficulty when doing different missions and call in other people to help you co/op style.
Put a few missions on hard and called for help and i have to say they are one hell of a challenge .
It seemed (to me at least) to automatically regulate the difficulty in relation to the number of players. Some of the missions in the Beta had more bad guys when you were playing co-operatively. Setting the difficulty level up made it feel like a permanent stand off, spending too much time shooting from cover. I don't think there's any need to set it to hard on the initial playthrough. That would just put me off.
What did you think of the visuals, any change? Less glitchy? Much pop in? Or didn't notice?
Going to try to pick it up from Asda this evening.
Game looks really sweet mate and the graphics are top notch for such a open world game this is.
I don't have any complaints from what i played, also didn't have a single disconnection or any server issues and the game loads really quick when you die
Cheaper in Sainsburys or Tescos
I'll pick it up today but the gf is coming over :/
Don't you mean B/f
Sorry to disappoint you, but I don't swing that way baby
Me and Marko got through the first bit ok
Had to register in an office but there were a load of fukwits in the way and it wouldn't work so I ended up restarting the game and it was ok then
Seems ok so far
Hope to pick it up tomorrow. Couldn't be arsed to go out again tonight.
The sound is wrong. It doesn't come though my headphones. I get chat in them but no game sound, that only comes through my hi-fi
No your wrong,my headset works perfectly ,but then again its not from Poundland
Have you checked in the [device settings] [audio devices] [headphones], that it's set to voice and game sound? In the ps4 settings menu I mean?
Don't tell him its nice that we can not here the country Bumpkin
Pity your headset don't break you southern Git
Anyway the games brilliant but where this game shines is with other players, played a few of the main missions on my Todd and i have to say they are in some cases are a real challenge.
So i now sort of invite any Tom,Dick,or Harry into the game for help [Not Farmers Though] I draw the line at some things .
Yea I had a look
Works perfectly on all my other games :/
It's my old PX21 not a poundland special
Sony have already told its customers cheap headset from the PX21 Downwards are not compatible with Playstation 4 or Farmers in General .
Didn't i add you Swanny again a few months back,I'm sure i did but i don't see you when your online.......Unless your hiding Or you blocked me

If I can get the poxy game to download the update, I'll be on later carrying a stretcher with your name on it.

You deleted me and then never added me again. I wouldn't have deleted you I even have people on my friends list that I have no [censored] idea who they are
I bought a special thing for my PX that makes it work with the PS. Works a treat on all the other games I play. I don't like wireless headsets. Can't be arsed charging the [censored] things up all the time

Can't be arsed charging the [censored] things up all the time Same here. Most of the time now I simply plug my Pulse Elite headset in, so don't even benefit from all the effects it has on board when connected by wifi.
Loving the game.
Hating replaying all of the Beta component.
The only real dislike I have is the cover system. It works fine most of the time, but in spaces crowded with detailed environmental objects and whilst in heated battles, it can feel at times that you are magnetised and get hung up on every piece of the [fantastic] scenery.
Trying to get out of the crouch position behind a crate to then run away, can very easily see you flip onto a nearby piece of scenery, finding yourself in the line of fire and then panic rolling sets in!
I think it needs tweaking and is definitely a lot more clingy than in the beta.
Get yourself a Sony Gold Headset, its wireless yes but you don't have to charge it every few hours and for the money its one of the best wireless headsets i have ever owned.
I added you last night......Friends request sent to SwannyMX.
You could game for about 8 hours with the Sony Gold headset,i just charge it every time i have a good gaming session.have the usb lead at back of tv and when i finish playing i just switch it on for 1 hour and all done and dusted for next time.
I have the Sony Gold headset but don't like it. Can never work out which way the volumes work :/
Yea I agree, a few times I've been feeling a bit poorly and jumped out into a bunch of [censored] off hoodies instead of running away
I'm going to pick this up at lunchtime today, what are you chaps playing this on? PC / PS4? I am getting it on Xbox One and will be keen to play with some others if anyone has it on that....
My lad and I have it for Xbox mate!
Myself,Nelly and Swanny have it on the Playstation 4 as we are as hard as nails and you don't want to meet myself and Nelly and Swanny in the Dark Zone .
You have Sound/Chat on the left hand side of the headset,if you want more sound then you press the sound button and control the volume form the right side up/down function.
If you want more Chat then repeat the process but press the lower Chat button and increase/decrease Chat on the volume button....Simples

An Elephant never forgets do they well that'd a easy mistake to mate as there is no left/right markings as far as i know like most quality headsets.
Good job you haven't got my XboX One Elite 800 turtle beach headset on then, there is about 12 buttons situated around the ear cups and each time i want to do something i literally have to take it of as i have forgotten whats what and where the buttons are

Nice! I picked it up yesterday, only managed to get 1 hour in last night but impressed so far. Hopefully I will get quite a bit of time to play it this weekend
If it has longevity (fingers crossed but only time will tell!) then will pick it up on PC for when there is nobody online from my friends list.
It looks sooooo much better than on PS4, but doesn't have the same social aspect. I know I can play with randoms, but it's hard enough as it is playing with the yokels on here...
Plus it's pointless playing with randoms without a mic. I'm not known for my patience and it takes them far too long to type "F**** you, you f****** faggot mother f*****!"
It takes all the excitement out of it for me.
Someone else knows you then
I am having a long Division session later this evening.

Sapp me when your going on.
Wasn't on the forum so didn't pick up on the W/App bit,you seen me on you could have joined me in map but you didn't .
I know a lot of it feels the same but I'm really enjoying this game immensely, when you visit safe houses even more missions on the map open up and my map at present is saturated with many different icons for various missions and challenges, need to do more story missions which seem really challenging on your own as the Dark Zone is still locked out for me.
I wouldn't visit the dark zone though until i have done a fair bit more of the main map.
how viable is this game for single player?
Don't know what you mean to be honest,I'm only really playing single player at present and loving it.a lot of the missions feel the same and based on what you like playing i wouldn't think this game is suited to you with your love of Jrpg.
it seems to have a massive amount of content and the map is jam packed with various missions of different degrees of toughness ,depending on your rank you are advised not to do certain missions until you have levelled up.
Im in the Nelly camp and think where this game shines is when you team up with other players,be it one other or 3 others.
The Dark Zone once opened is not for single players thats for sure, and again like Nelly said the game feels way harder than the beta we all played.
You can play all the missions in single player but I'd advise you to team up with a pal or some randoms for some of the tougher missions but the dark zone will be an absolute killfest GTA style without teaming up with a mate or three!!
Agreed, shame you turned Rogue and turned traitor and picked it up on Xbox One,wouldn't it be cool if Xbox and Playstation players could play together but that will never happen.
Don't know know mate when i will see you online because The division for me is where its at and Quantum Break is pure single player,no co/op on Far Cry Primal so that leaves Far Cry 4 and Doom in May.
What's all the Dark Zone stuff about?
When opened its where you find the better weapons, but all stuff collected has to be air lifted out and thats when the problems arise,if you shoot other agents you turn rogue and you will be hunted down, not only that in the dark zone there are many more hostiles and other human crews that will try and kill you, when you die they can steel some of your stuff that you may have collected but not air lifted out of the area.
Was playing last night for 3 hours, was actually trying to do a story mission for about 45 minutes with 2 other guys,we got nearly to the end but we all got gunned down over and over and we didn't complete it,its extremely challenging for sure and it needs other players for this game to truly shine as its hard doing some of the stuff that is essential on your own.
I know you don't usually play during daylight hours, but I'm going on for an all day session in about an hour if you want a hand.
Not that I'll be that much help just yet at level 5!
Im at level 10 now and i keep getting messages telling me my weapon is underpowered for my level cap,i changed it from my M4 to some other weapon which was level 10 and i hated it,only had a burst mode and i don't like that type of weapon.
Added various Grips and scopes and at present I'm happy, found a nice few touches in the settings menu so you don't have to click and hold to run on the left stick, now one click you auto run and you don't have to hold it.
Now got the Dark zone open but I'm not venturing in until I'm powered up to my liking, just teamed up with a couple of other guys to do a story mission but we failed and we had one Gung Ho idiot running in front constantly dying and letting the team down, obviously we failed that, was in between cooking the dinner so it was only for 30 minutes, now come of until later this evening Nelly, best form of contact is WhatsApp mate and not this forum as i only come on here a few times a day.
Im absolutely loving the game even though much of what you do is very similar, can not wait until i fire it up later this evening so i doubt if your playing it all day you be on,one thing i notice all though it helps, its not essential that you play with your friends as its easy to team up with others doing the same missions you require.
As regards level it makes little difference mate,my preferred weapons are of much lower impact and rank,i think to get some serious fire power and upgrades its going to take venturing into the Dark Zone.
Another tip,do all the safe houses as soon as they appear on the map, that way you can fast track to places around the map a lot quicker, read all the billboards in the safe houses and your base and talk to the soldier in the safe house when doing missions around that area.
Some good videos reading tips and customisation

Cheers I'll give it ago tonight
Bad boys are in for a shock now

We must have been on for about 6 hours last night, games massive and we achieved very little,a couple of the story modes and thats about it,but its addictive and I'm having a great time with the game, looking at the map outside of the Dark Zone its cram packed with various missions and things to collect.
We ventured into the Dark Zone for about 30 minutes and its extremely tough trying to kill NCPs with lower grade weapons,i actually watched some Youtube videos of others doing this on about rank 21 and not rank 5/10 and they killed the tougher NCPs in a fraction of the time it took the 3 of us with under powered automatics.
So best steer well clear of the Dark Zone until you have the sufficient high powered weapons and suitable rank of 20 plus.
Haven't see you online since the game actually came out,we have a space for newbies in our team but we are not going back doing the same missions over and over, the ones we have completed that is.
...we are not going back doing the same missions over and over, the ones we have completed that is. Especially that flaming refugee camp! (No pun intended)
Yeah that took us about 10 attempts and 1 hour of our time.
Do we get to clear the jungle?
Managed to get the three main base sections online last night so now I'm ready to rumble.
Sorry Timey I was trying to drag myself away from the screen last night and get to bed when you joined
Its ok mate i was only popping in to say hello and show you my dance moves,be on this evening if you want to start doing some of the game.
Don't be shy we can invite each other to party chat, need to have headset to play this game from a strategy point,so communication is the key
I can't get it to work
This game has the worst controls I've ever come across
Don't be so silly, the game controls are a breeze, first of you have to hold the left cross pad and use the right stick to highlight the grenade or whatever else you have in your menu, which depends on how much of the in game content you have achieved.
Once you have used the right stick to assign the grenade to the left d/pad then thats all you do in game, just tap left.
You will see a grenade symbol on your dash when you have assigned it,you don't just press left on the d/pad and its grenade time, assign it first doing what i just said
Tap left on the d pad, then aim as usual and use the fire button to throw it (right trigger)
Only after you have assigned it to that slot, hold left d/pad swanny then use right stick to highlight the grenade and hey presto its that easy peasy
I only had to assign it when I wanted to choose one type of grenade in particular. Once I had lobbed all my frags, it automatically swapped to whatever else I had in there, flashbang I think. At least I think that's what it did?
They get easier the more time you spend with them, but they're certainly not perfectly intuitive. The camera could be a mile smoother, and the acceleration needs to be removed from the turn command, for my taste at least. And don't even get me started on the sticky scenery....
But I love the gameplay, it's exactly what I had hoped for in that respect.
Never had a turn command implemented and never done one .
The turning control. Some developers incorporate acceleration into the movement. It's supposed to add weight and realism, but I'm personally not a fan.
Killzone 2 wasn't the better for it.
I tried that but it doesn't make any difference :/
Tap left on the d pad, then aim as usual and use the fire button to throw it (right trigger)
Thanks it's the tap I was missing
Idiot

Makes look so easy to kill the Ai.
Takes a hell of a lot of time to reach this rank, but like Nelly said if you have that it makes the Dark Zone a lot easier for sure,he was downing the AI in a matter of seconds with his weapons.
My first venture into the Dark zone and 2 minutes later i was still trying to kill one of the opponents with the purple health bars.
I want his gun

Anyone up for a few hours or more later this evening....

what is interesting is you say you will neve rlike jrpg's but modern western games have been taking jrpg elements.
This is why I am interested in this game.
I would say the main difference between this game and a action jrpg, is it is guns instead of things like swords and magic, and the social element of the game.
Would you say social co-op type play is important for games you play?
Sadly the importance of the social impact of this game has kept me away from it.
It has many rpg elements and is best played with other players but i have done most of it on my own at present, you don't need to have friends when playing as you can just join other groups or basically call other people into your story and progress that way.
Take away the guns and i probably wouldn't be interested, you should just watch some Twitch streams and make your own mind up as i know your not really interested in shooters and this game is a shooter no doubt about it,but it has many rpg elements of which you like.
And where did you disappear to last night? Didn't your mum ever teach you to at least say "thanks for having me" before sloping off?

You can play alone, even though its a bit harder and accordingly repetitive.
I play quite a lot alone. This is typical of solo gameplay.

Played The Division all day yesterday and got a few more levels on. Had none of the connection issues that we were suffering on Thursday night.
It definitely plays far better for me in solo mode. Cracked out a couple of the main missions all on my lonesome. Timey was on but didn't offer help despite the invite. He prefers playing with the yankee doodles now.
Still, it proves that it's server issues (or ones connection to them) that makes some of the AI bullet sponges.

I hammered this over the weekend too! I absolutely love this game, I'm enjoying it so much more than Destiny. It's much more engaging and the world feels more interesting and more alive. Not ventured into the Dark Zone yet, going to give that a go this evening I think
Personally i wouldn't venture into the Dark Zone until you at least level 25,myself Nelly,Swanny are all around that level and none of us have gone into the Dark Zone yet as there is way to much to do outside of that area.
Like you i love the game but there are reports that the Dark Zone is not so balanced and it may become a chore trying to get better weapons, apparently some of this was patched but until i test it myself i really don't know if its going to be as enjoyable as the area outside of the dark zone.
There is so much to do i doubt i even get near finishing this by the time Quantum Break releases in 7 days time.
So i might just have to put it to one side when that releases,i am also going to test out Doom Beta 6pm Saturday night when Shopto send me my pre/order code,it only lasts 2 days but I'm intrigued to try it out.
Quake and Doom games were what i used to play online many years ago,and its because of them i love FPS so much.
Im hoping as i have grown older i still like the multiplayer side of Doom, but in reality i have bought this for the single player game and i think the multiplayer may be just a little to fast and frantic for me to like in this day and age,I'm hoping I'm not right because to have a real addictive online game that is easy to master is what its all about.
Also got Dark Souls 3 a week after Quantum Break which looks outstanding but as hard as Bloodborne.
So lots to play next few weeks and i do hope Quantum Break has some sort of leaderboard challenge so i can kick Jorkila Butt.
Destiny was for me a major disappointment and quickly forgotten .
The game to me has lived up to my expectations and is even better than i even dreamed of.
A game like this isn't going to please everyone, but since having this game i have to say i have played it almost nearly every single night and to me that is the sign of a decent game.
To many times i have bought games and within mere days they are quickly forgotten ,plants v zombies 2 been a prime example, great for a few hours but quickly doesn't hold your attention and want you wanting more.
its a short miracle you not bored yet
/me ducks
Not a miracle mate i just have high expectations and once i like a game then i will play it as much as possible.
So for every 6 games i buy i would say only 1 lives up to expectations, last year that was Bloodborne which blew me away even though it was at the time and for many hours one of the most frustrating and difficult games i have ever played but then again one of the most rewarding experiences i have ever had with a game also.
Im not one for patience and a game to me has to draw me in from the start, generally when i first load up a game and you get the game intro and the cut scenes and visuals then this normally tells me believe it or not if I'm going to like it.
The division to me has it all and if i was going to be critical i would say to much content and a map that is literally saturated with things to do and things to collect it can get a tad confusing, some times not easy to see and highlight and i have to use Zoom In out on many occasions to highlight the area or mission that i need to go to.
Im intrigued to try out the Dark Zone now i have the full game and not the beta, didnt do much with the beta but i know on the brief time i went in the AI are extremely tough and brutal and you need a half decent weapon set up to even stand a chance.
I think thats what we should do next as a group, just to test it out
I'm level 19 now and I have quite high DPS so I will give the first Dark Zone area a try as it's lvl 10 - 14 I think and I have replayed a lot of main missions on hard with NPC's around lvl 15 that are all purple or gold. I just want to have a mooch to see what it's all about but like you I am enjoying exploring the main map the most and I want to clear all that before really giving the Dark Zone a proper go.
I thought The Division was very daunting when I first turned it on but now I have got a lot of playtime in I find it very simple to navigate. There is a lot to take in at first with the wing upgrades, crafting, all of the different types of missions etc.
I actually disagree with you on the map being flooded with too much to do, you only really get about 5 to 6 encounters and 3 to 4 side missions per zone. It doesn't light up the phone recordings and other collectibles until you get close so I don't find that they get in the way. Stuff like Assassins Creed was annoying as you look on the map and every 10 metres there is something to pick up and it felt too busy, this feels a lot cleaner.
I'm really excited about Quantum Break and it was the main reason I chose Xbox One over the PS4, however, I am enjoying The Division that much that I will get to lvl 30 and complete all of the map before I start on Quantum Break. There is bound to be a game drought over the summer and as I am having so much fun on this it seems silly for me to start something new so soon!
Have you unlocked all the safe houses and updated the missions at the vendor, and the encounters at the notice boards mate?
My map seems way too packed to know what to do next, and I'm above you on level 23!!
I think thats what we should do next as a group, just to test it out We've got decent guns now and support from the West Country Massive, so why not.
Yup but I didn't do them all at the start, I unlock a safe house, got to the board and go to the situation guy to get all of the stuff for that area. I then do those missions and then move onto the next safe house.
The map would be pretty busy if you went and opened them all up at the start, but I am not sure why you would do that as it doesn't seem like the game should be played that way? Each time you complete all of the side missions for one area it tells you to go to the next safe zone and gives you some exp for it, so it feels like you are meant to just do 1 zone at a time.
Don't get me wrong I do venture into other areas to do the bigger missions and when I need to veer off to do something else, but in general I just smash all the encounters and side missions in one zone then move on. I certainly don't think the map is busy anymore but I did feel that way during the first 10ish hours of play.
I've just thought, have you got that upgrade where it shows you all collectibles once you have completed all of the encounters and side missions in a zone? If you have that then I can imagine that makes loads of little blue icons all over each zone for the folders, phone recordings, echo's etc.
I have purposely not bought that upgrade yet so I don't have that, but I can see that being an issue if you have it! As far as I could see you couldn't change the "legend" to not show collectibles like you can on stuff like Assassins Creed, which is the main reason I didnt buy that upgrade....

I've been playing a bit with my lad recently and I'm currently lvl27 and dz lvl 17, believe me when I say it's tough in the darkzone lol.
I've mostly concentrated on health which is currently just over 50k and my weapons are somewhere between 15k-20k.
I'll party up with you at the weekend if you like Jaxx.
One thing to bare in mind is that to be in the dz with friends you have to be around the same outside normal lvl ie between lvl20-24 or 25-29.

I wonder what would happen if we all at the same time shot at another player, what about if just one of us went rogue and then others would try and kill us and hunt us down but we would have 3 allies there to turn on them if you know what i mean.

Yea I have seen you online a few times but as you are always about 6 - 8 levels ahead of me I haven't joined you. I will definitely hop on for a game with you at the weekend though, I guess as you hit 30 and I get closer to the cap we will be able to play more!
50k health is ridiculous, I've focussed on DPS and it's just over 15k at the moment but I've just found a few nice purple blueprints / items so looking forward to seeing how they affect things tonight!

No mate, I haven't done that one yet but the map is still really busy when you zoom out!
I opened up the safe houses for fast travel around the map, and to unlock all of the different weapons vendors. They all seem to have different guns. If I'm getting walloped on a mission, I warp back to where I know the different guns are, then warp straight back to retry the mission.
When you get further on Jaxx, it's a mission in itself just to fight your way through the street crews, to get to your chosen mission lol! You end up with no grenades or special ammo before you even start it!
And also because Timey told me it was a good idea to unlock as many as you could do easily. He wasn't wrong!
We worked out last night that if you do a mission with just two of you, the initial wave of snipers etc are all red. If you add a third person to the party, they go purple. With four of you, they go yellow! So if you're not all on top of your game weapons level wise, it's actually much easier to play just as a pair!

But nobody has a collection of Bennie Hats like Nelly

But not in the way of medical attention when needed by you you can see on the map when one of your fellow agents is down, you also get a voice message which says........WARNING......One of your agents is DOWN,yet you and your farmer mate MARKO just carry on as normal and only myself and Nelly seem to do the revivals .

I went into the Dark Zone on my todd last night and get literally obliterated within minutes as its virtually impossible, and thats just the aggressive Ai.
10 minutes of that and i was back in the normal map, found a few goodies but trying to negotiate around the Dark Zone on your own is all but impossible .
And there's the rub. The AI is sooooo much harder in the Darkzone, that you don't want some half arsed attempt at extracting, ruined by a 12 year old lagging camper.
It should be easy to grind and hard to extract, or hard to grind and easy to extract. Not ridonkulously difficult to earn, then [censored] easy to lose it again. There aren't enough gaming hours in my week to justify it.
Otherwise I'll just set up a new character and replay the standard mission components. Got to do that anyway as my mates are buying it this weekend. Or I could just join as I am and be legendary...
Mates ? You got Mates
Obviously not real gamers buying a game thats been out 3 weeks .

Will join up for sure when I'm up to it.

My friend and I tried the Dark Zone for the first time on Saturday and we both absolutely loved it. We managed to kill a few people and do an extraction of a full inventory each. It's so exciting in there! It seemed a lot of people were walking around alone so we took them out, although I am sure as you delve into the higher level areas there will be 4 man squads ready to batter you. I really like the idea of having to extract the loot out, it makes it very tense during those last couple of minutes.
I might start focussing on my HP a bit now, I'm currently on 31k DPS and 27k health and I am finding that the elite guys take me down to low health quickly when they hit me.

I'm in a suitcase
That pesky pigeon was about to make off with someones pride and joy
Last night someone was wearing an Aussie hat but minus the corks
I want one

And thats exactly what i refrain from playing the division with you 2 American style Pickers
Mike and Frank from American Pickers beware......
Im more interested in playing the game than mucking about collecting hats and generally everything thats not really gaming related.
Joking apart we had a half decent session when the 4 of us were on,but way to much mucking about and not much progression if I'm honest.3 or 4 hours gaming time and one story mission isn't that exciting .

You've got no patience whatsoever. I've seen you in a hat so stop pretending you hate them. I've got a saucy little slouchy, in lilac and walnut if you want to borrow it?
