Well considering you can churn out a game in pretty much any state, charge £40 for it and at least a 100k people will buy it + £8-12 a pop for DLC, then its obvious thats where the money lies, theres no refuting that. Even wii games can fetch up to £35 which is out right ridiculous.
Developers themselves have said PC gaming is ahead of consoles by at least a generation and thats not just on a hardware level, its also been said PC gamers are far more smarter over what they want and expect in the game i.e the quick cash churn won't work, etc.
TBH as a consumer i can't see how the former is good for other consumers, its good for devs yes, but as a buyer? no, i don't think thats anything to be proud of, especially when nothing changes from title to title, just look at CoD (again).
