Re: MW3

You make some fair valid points mate and nobody has been stung with over hyped games more than myself the past few years............Duke nukem forever was the biggest joke in gaming history and the people responsible should be lined up in a firing squad and shot never to develop games again.

I knew that this game would suck Bigtime but still went out and bought into the hype as you suggested only to be greeted by utter garbage that would not have looked good on a Nintendo Snes.

I'm struggling to actually think of a decent game i could say i really loved this year and so far i have been disappointed many times and wasted plenty of money in the process.

We can only judge games on what we read and what we see and hype is a big part of marketing these games,if the game in question does not live up to expectations then i am pretty sure that before its released be it reviews or leaked footage we will know if its good or if its over hyped rubbish.

We all looked gobsmacked when we first saw the Battlefield 3 trailers but now weeks later with PlayStation footage people are nit picking holes in that version.any true gamer new that the footage they showed originally was on a high spec PC and anyone that knows anything about gaming would realise that this is just not possible to reproduce on consoles that are 5 to 6 years old in generation terms.

So been mere mortals we can only listen to other people in the gaming media to drip feed us information [hype indeed] But thats all we have until the reviews hit the net or somebody gets a early copy of something, even then they might be Battlefields or COD haters.....................Reviews for me are the only true way apart from actually owning the game to tell me is it worth it or not ?

One thing i do know is there will be a review ebargo on both these games until they are practically released which is something i really do not like.

Always concerns me when this happens because 75% of the time most games that have this system fail to live up to the hype as you suggested.

What do you think of the footage of MW3 that you have seen so far,are you not impressed regardless of Hype ?

Im not expecting MW3 to look allot better than the last two installments of COD , personally feel MW2 was the better looking game but think from the videos i have seen , MW3 looks more like Black Ops , Which i don't mind .

There is only so much they can do with a six year old machine i guess and we know they want to keep the frame rate at about 60fps ..

Really? I actually thought it looked better. Well, in places at least. Some of the collapsing building scenes looked good and the rolling car crash was impressive.

Proof will be in the pudding as they say! smile

being honest , i have always struggled with video as my netbook wont run the HD versions but im confident that on a 6 year old machine there is only so much that can be done to polish the graphics that has not already been done .
Also its still the same engine and there insistence on holding 60fps all points to it not being much more polished than the last two outings of COD .

I personally would like to see more destructible environment , not to the same degree as BF but where a camping spot could be targeted and raised to the ground or put another way , some more assistance with dealing with campers would be a positive thing for my self .

At the moment the carpet bomb has been a favorable kill streak for my self as hiding indoors does not mean you will escape . wish the mortars worked the same if targeting a internal area .
