Re: A good Take on MW3 from Now Gamer Website

It is true though, why would you change it if people are foolish enough to pay for it all? dedicated fan base however? Im not quite so sure about that, when games like Halo/resistance/gears of war/killzone/uncharted come out they give a sustained dent to the unique user count on CoD

You're right, they will. But kids aside, people play COD as much for their lifestyle as anything else. If you have a busy life, kids/work etc., then COD is very easy to pick up and play. And Activision know that. You get to join your mates in a party virtually straight away and the games are fast and furious. One hour then bedtime ready for tomorrow's daily grind.

10 years ago I loved sitting up until 2 in the morning playing Resident Evil, rolling out of bed for work 4 hours later! Nowadays I have too much responsibility to do that. frown

I am looking forward to BF3 more and more now after reading up on dedicated servers and browsers.
My new connection has completely spoiled my online experience....and I mean completely. Being able to choose the ping speed will be the key to changing that experience. And the fact that a deathmatch option has been included enhances that choice. EA aren't stupid. That is why they have included it. And if that enables me to be competitive then I will be a Battlefield convertee. If peoples experience are truly enhanced by dedi's then you may see a real migration towards Battlefield. And that in turn would force Activision to follow the same route. And if they did I would simply swap straight back to COD because frenetic is my thing.

But I will still always play COD co op modes because I love them. And the new version sounds like it will be the best yet. Pity though it is only 2 player and not four.

But for now, my despair at COD MP will give me time to really enjoy Resistance 3. And that, I think will be an EXCELLENT single player experience. Pity the MP lacks the simplicity of the first installment.

Not a sad statement mate but a basic fact, personally i dont buy the game because its called COD i buy it because to me the game is everything i want in a FPS.smile.

Brink is a FPS ...........Did i buy that..............No because it was rubbish just like last weeks Body Count.

Anyway like i said in previous posts i will be buying both Battlefield and MW3 and will hopefully enjoy both for many months to come, with that outlook then there can only be one winner..............Us Gamerswink

I couldn't open your last link mate, so I hope this is not duplicating it. smile

A good detailed perks/killstreak review. Some interesting perks such as recon and stalker. They claim to have removed the reset on death streak system to aid those who want to play tactically. I think that is really an admission that the netcode is rubbish on P2P and are trying to stop some rage quitting. Either way it can only help with the frustration at times.

Now if they have only adjusted that compensation code? Wishful thinking I expect.frown

the lag compensation is not only a problem on PS3 , i still get games where i cant kill anybody on Xbox but the actual game runs so much better over Xbox live than it does over PS3 .
Owning both consoles i can not express how much better Black Ops plays on a Xbox over a PS3 .

And i think the amount of people playing it on Xbox compared to how many play it on PS3 only sure up what im saying .
I know it should not be like this and im sure this wont be the last bad port to a PS3 from a Xbox ,
In fact i was bitterly disappointed to hear the PS3 version of Dead island suffered badly from artifacting ( bad port alert ) as i wanted to buy the PS3 version for the kids , as they love a zombie game ( not sure i should encourage but its not like there at primary school any more ).
Hopefully my eldest will let them use his Xbox as my xbox is off limits tongue .

And totally agree about people needing a quick fix and the COD series offering that quick fix .

In reply to a post by FireFalcon:
I hate CoD on its lack of skill and its constant reskinning, its "popularity" is a side effect of the former and constantly works to its detriment so no sheep here, all wolf wink

That's why the kids love it.
Please keep it easy so that the kids keep playing it and leave BF3 for real players smile
No doubt MW3 will be full of cheats soon anyway

Never too early to train kids against zombie apocalypse, its the most popular form of apocalypse thats likely to happen (after mankind nuking itself, but that will probably spawn zombies so win win assuming you live past the first wave laugh) I mean how many movies and trailers show that infect kid usually screws the whole family, that dawn of the dead remake, dead island trailer, etc wink

A good take on COD black ops from this guy. I lmao but to be truthful, 99% of the time in 99% of games this is how it plays for me. Frustrating ain't the word. Funny though. wink

Guy cracks me up wink but lets be honest he makes some dam fine points, small game company that made Homefront with not a 100th of the COD players and the millions it makes have Dedicated servers................Go figure ?

How can this be and why does a game this big with so much potential use P2P.
