Is your console the only device on the network, the homehub doesn't have QoS inbuilt

Sorry if I mislead you! I am not on BT infinity but with Aquiss and the download speeds are amazing, 38/8Mbps. It's not the product that is the problem, but the game compensation code as you say. And superfast broadband makes that worse if anything. frown

Even interleaving control is apparenly still not an option yet on FTTC.
.

Knowing how it works is completely different to understanding how it works.

FTTC - Aquiss Business 45
37.7Mbps Downstream
8.45Mbps Upstream

You will be able to pick what server you play with the new Battlefield game.as EA have confirmed there will be a server browser even on consoles.

Yeah I saw that, but I wasn't sure if you were just choosing your game or choosing the server with the best connection suited to your own i.e. 60ms ping, 20ms ping etc.

I've never been a PC gamer so I can only go on what I've read. I know you used to run game servers on the PC mate. Am I barking up the wrong tree? cool

I have exactly the same problem. Contrary to BT's adverts, FTTC doesn't necessarily give you a better gaming experience. Certainly not on the consoles anyway. Choosing your own server without matchmaking and not playing in parties would help. Sadly not an option on COD, Battlefield etc.

I have a 9ms ping. When not hosting, it isn't a great experience to be honest. But as restarts says, when hosting, 90% of the time it is unplayable. frown

I know nothing about PS3 gaming and almost nothing about xbox - my daughter has one, but I am useless at FPS without a mouse.

To avoid the compensation when hosting can't you just arrange not to be connectable - strict nat IIRC xbox calls it.

If you really wanted to add latency you probably could if you routed the console through a Linux PC, but how possible/easy it would be would depend on the details your existing network setup.
