Doubt it - they will either not have a go at all, or get a console...

Well ideally they'll need the bandwidth of the 5mb+ assuming their line is reliable too, majority of UK ISP's only use interleaving which will be giving them higher latency.

Superfast was kind of the wrong term to use as i was thinking of a quality connection over all, FUP's included.

But at that time BT vision is a service provided by BT, i dont think they could get away with charging for it wink

The question is though the majority of people who arent interested in gaming are more likely to own a wii or something, even 360's these days are relatively cheap. If someone buys into onlive you would have to think what would they be wanting to play that hasnt made them want to buy a console anyway? Because over time they are probably going to be spending more an onlive sub than buying a console + game or two of their choice. With the preowned market and usual month or two after launch price drops tanking game prices it would probably work out cheaper for them.

Until we know the prices how do we know? Access to a growing list of digital titles for a fee per month does have its charm. Just like with film rental I'm sure you'd end up playing some games you wouldn't have tried if you'd had to buy them.

I've no idea if it will work but I'm not writing it off, its the way films will go so why not games (for some). Look how many people on facebook (not gamers at all) play games just because its there as an option. How many iPhone users weren't gamers before but now play games

You could also argue that some 360/PS3 titles are done in single player mode in 10-15hrs, why not play 5 of these a month and finish them instead of buy one game?

True that, if you are willing to sacrifice the quality then it might just be a worth while investment.

I guess it depends on how good your current PC/Laptop is or how much the adapter/joypad is

Apparently in the US it's $99 for the "micro console and wireless controller" (an extra controller is $50 dollars).
If that actually translates to 60 or 70 quid over here (which it really should if they want to give it a good start) then I can see people finding that reasonable.

If they can get a good catalogue of current games on board then it would be a quick and easy way to try before you buy. Extra choice can only be a good thing in my opinion.

And another reason not to bother with the service because BT have to be one of the worse companies to inhabit planet earth.

Every experience I have had with BT has been horrendous ,from reporting a fault,to changing a package you name it totally useless.tongue

All you can eat for £7.00 a month? If the graphics are near enough then it could do well.
