They use 720p which doesnt help as most have 1080p monitors I suspect, but good size for ipad etc

At 4Meg and above its actually pretty good and enjoyable. You don't have the same wow look at the detail moments, and long range sniping might be harder.

As long as the games on the £6.99 bundle keep refreshing, new games look a bit expensive.

I'm starting to think about checking out the all you can eat package. Kids are getting too old for Disney channel so cancelling that on Sky would pay for it.

I know the graphics won't be 1080, but PS3 isn't and I would get to play gamesike Red Orchestra, Limbo, Borderlands 2 and Saints Row the Third?

My connection should breeze it with plenty room to spare. Sounds like an excellent deal for casual gaming IF it really runs at 720. Are the micro console and controller WiFi?
.

Knowing how it works is completely different to understanding how it works.

Pad is wireless 360 ish feel, the console is not wireless. I would test on a TV if this is your plan for it, before any outlay, I think this will be its Achilles heel.

The graphics quality may be a little lacking on a big screen 40 inch plus, but a 32 inch it would be ok, but not same as the console.

Given cost of games, if the package has a good number you enjoy playing, but are not addicted to, then its good value. Cost of buying games outright on it, looks expensive, but am betting that is down to deals with suppliers.
