Re: Battlefield 3.....Your Honest opinion.

Idiots. Too many fools playing this game. Jump into a 6 man carrier and drive off with it empty for example. Or get Q Spotted and then run over and lie down next to you...getting you killed.
Campers. Its full of them. I understand this is a "feature" of BF games but it's pretty ridiculous when you spawn in on Caspian Border and some German child with no life on Level 30 with EPIC SNIPER! instanto headshots you from 600 metres away.

I find this annoying. Especially with the amount of running you need to do after dying. I've lost count of the amount of times I've repaired a tank and he's virtually driven over me to get away. And the sniping really does get overdone on some maps.
No indication of pings inside the game. MW2 was slagged off relentlessly (by me included) for go for a ping bar approach. BF3 doesn't even do that.

It seems hard to get an even game sometimes. The EA European servers are generally constantly full, and many of the others appear to behave in a somewhat suspect manner. Played many games over the weekend with top man on each team doing in the 40's with 3 or 4 deaths. The rest of both teams somewhere in the 7-10 kills category. Got onto one EA server last night and went three rounds with 1.67, 1.00 and 1.45 K/D ratios. Since Thursday I had struggled to get above 0.6-0.7!

That's why I think we should have ping figures instead of bars in the server browser to show more accurately what's going on. Having them in game would seem obvious too, seeing as a match takes so long.

And is it just me or are the maps rather useless when flying jets? I seem to run straight-out of the game zone 90% of the time without even seeing a target. Then die trying to swing it round in 5 or 6 seconds. Far too short for anbody to get used to it if you ask me. The other 10% of the time when I do find the battle I end up crashing straight into it, lol! There really is no incentive in trying to master these aircraft for me I'm afraid. You get less practice than a Quantas co pilot.

On a side note, the co-op has been ruined by the second level. I am now competent in the helicopter gunship, but not an expert. The helicopter level is too long and the space for manoeuvre is too tight. Go to high, game over. Enemies appear right below you. No room to move so soldiers all killed before you even get to re position properly, game over. So you have to move very quickly, hit the hill, game over. Try to go high to miss the hill, game over. And each time you need to replay it for 20 mins to get back there. And you can't choose who flies and who guns. It appears totally random, except that it picks the same player ten times then swaps, then swaps back next game for another 10 games. And my co-op buddy couldn't fly a kite!

The only way to fly so quickly, so low in such a confined space, for such an extended period of time, is to be a chopper expert. Which is fair enough if I could choose as and when to play it like MW2. Not being able to unlock the next level after 3 hours of meticulous and repetitive (and slow) gameplay seems rather ridiculous. Especially as I know from spoilers there are some great levels beyond this one where you can, wait for it..........fight with a gun!!

Poorly conceived in my opinion. frown
.

Knowing how it works is completely different to understanding how it works.

Going by what you say and a fair few others i would say generally it has not lived up to the hype and i do hope that next week I'm not saying the same thing.

Yea I have found that a little frustrating but if you can squad up then you need 2 people with stingers to deal with it. On your own the flares recharge at the same rate as the Stinger reloads which makes it a waste of your time.

I take it that you means that the guns pre-unlocks are a bit weak? I still haven't managed to figure out how many kills with a gun unlocks everything but I went back to using the m16 and m4 etc just last night and had absolutely no problems killing loads of people but I did have my heavy barrel/foregrip combo going. I know when I started I found myself getting raped by people but I think it was more of me not being adjusted to the game whilst having no idea where I was going/where the enemy might be coming from.

I expect queueing to arrive but maybe not for the first month where there is so many people battering servers.

I think the thing that annoys me most, is the way you have to have 3 different things open at once in order to play, Origin, battlelog and then finally the game itself, it seems kinda bad design.

I remember a free game I played some years ago, Enemy Territory, was a a spinoff of return to castle wolfenstein, it was a great game, you had all the server and login stuff all contained inside the game, so you didnt have to have multiple programs running at once.

and lets face it BF3 is a resource hog at the best of times, having to run other programs in the background as well really doesnt help.

Not to mention about 25% of the time the game will crash when you try to load into the game.

Only had one long range sniper death so far, maybe as I try and be sensible on route taken, and use low walls for cover etc

Common sniper buildings get an RPG from me, and the AA is good for hosing down from a safe distance, and discourages snipers.

Last night was getting 2nd or 3rd in team, with K/D of only 2 or 3, still getting loads of points from kit use, disabling aircraft etc

I think some people also have forgotten the power of anti tank mines, as caught a few troop carriers that way.

25% crashes must be an issue with your setup somewhere - I experience perhaps 1 server crash every 2 days (this is where me and all my friends get thrown off) but it never crashes for me otherwise.

And the 3 program thing is frustrating but people seem to forget that all steam games require you to run steam as well as the game so it is not that much different really.
