Interesting so far! I also text my friend who has the day booked off to play it today, he said the campaign, spec ops & survival are fantastic but the online play is not very exciting at all so it will be interesting to hear your verdict.

I'm told that this sums it up quite nicely so far for MP.

First impression? If you sat me down in front of it and told me it was Modern Warfare 2, I wouldnt know you were lying.

The only reason I would buy MW3 would be for the SP story line, I'm really not even slightly interested in the MP. But after 2 (I think on hard I did it the first time in under 5 hours), there's no way I will be shelling out if the SP is as short in 3. 1 was awesome, but also too short (less than 10 iirc), but loved every second of the SP. 2 just left me feeling ripped off.

Be interesting to hear, enjoy yourself smile

Just played a little bit of the game mode Kill confirmed and its very addictive and a great new game mode addition.

Its very hard to sum up at present the game is every little bit like the previous games and i guess that is the problem but I'm not really complaining.

Like Samson says if you came into a room and i was playing this you would think i was playing MW2 with a new map pack.

Obviously there is glowing Gold and Red Dog tags in the game Kill Confirmed and it plays really fast and frantic as ever but again its just like previous MW games.

Now the question is this a bad thing and did MW lovers like myself expect any massive changes and the answer is more than likely no.

But i will say this that i understand why people say its a updated map pack or call it MW 2.5 and im not going to argue because very little has changed and only more time spent with the game can i give you some more thoughts and impressions.

Its a Solid game and if you like fast action 60fps with basically the same graphics as 2 years ago and you enjoyed MW2 then its a game you have to get.

MW2 minus the hackers and Glitches and over powered kill streaks was one of my all time favourite games and at present this is where MW3 shines

If all of the above returned then you might as well be playing MW2 apart from the brilliant survival mode[worth the money just for this] and Kill Confirmed Online.

Needs some serious amount of online ranking up to give any more serious thoughts about how this has turned out,put it this way im not disappointed but at present I'm not completely blown away either.wink

This guys Paragraph sums it up in a nutshell taken from a average review of a site i quite honestly have never heard of.

Conclusion
Modern Warfare 3 has for many months been touted as the next evolutionary step for the FPS genre, sadly this isnt the case, if anything Modern Warfare 3 is essentially just an expensive mission + map pack on a retail disk, while there are obvious changes in parts, its clear that the game is essentially an extension of the previous title, right down to the engine and formula.
While one could argue that you shouldnt mess with a formula that works, at the same time you should not become complacent with a franchise just because previous iterations did exceptionally well, the downfalls aside though Modern Warfare 3 is a solid edition to the franchise and offers its fans many, many hours of fun online and off, and thats what games are all about.

While im sure ill be banned from future review code for writing this review and COD Fans will want me lynched for this scoring, and no doubt the PlayStation 3 fans will want me 6 feet under for pointing out how bad their version is, the long and short of it is that Modern Warfare 3 is not reinventing the wheel, its simply throwing a spare in the back of the car and continuing down the same road its been on for years.

Oh This is something that will go against MW3 and was spotted by some eagle eyed player when doing the single player part of the game.

RECYCLED BUILDINGS FROM COD4

See guys i will post positive and negative things regarding this game no matter how much i love it.

It's that the game? Great photo-realistic graphics but man, they really screwed up the good old COD formula. crazy

My sentiment exactly really. MW 1 was very good value and I replayed it a good few times and tried to get through on hard though I never completed it.

I only played MW 2 through once and I can't even remember that much about it except it was daft.

MW3 will only be of interest to me if it's at the right price and only then if the single player campaign is any good. So far, it's not sound too hopeful but I've yet to watch some of those other video links so might yet be tempted.

Re: MW3 Lovers Only Thread...All about the Game - for £26.65

Thanks very much for taking the time to add this. I am quite tempted to sign up and download it right now. If it's a really good game then I just might!

I tend to wait for a few days to see what T2D has to say and if he's started complaining then it's not going to be looking good.

Cheers for that, it does sound like it is just an extra skin for MW2 and to be honest I got bored of it after a month or so, so for me it's a no go for a while until it is cheaper / preowned. I have to say though well done to COD for getting consistent purchases from a lot of players including myself for years, but competition is healthy and perhaps now Battlefield have ramped up their investment and marketing COD will do a hell of a lot more next year, which will be great for gamers all around.
