A nice 4 days off and I got some serious gaming time in. My K/D is 1.47 but slowly suffering from me trying to unlock things for [censored] guns. My Score per minute is doing nicely at 515.64 but I haven't really spent enough time in planes so no doubt that will drop when I do start playing with them.

Sergeant now with 14:45:41 of play time, but score rate is poor at 198.74

My W/L is climbing 0.88 now but K/D still just 0.61

Hard work getting the 51 vehicles destroyed, spent one game supressing aircraft, only downed one, but kept them away from rest of team. Started that when saw team getting cut down, and no other AA players about, so died switched kit out.

Need a nice range day to get used to sniping, the gravity drop and ranges are so much larger than black ops that it takes getting used to again.

Love engineer and RPG on metro, as can fire up staircase after a momentary pop-up - triple kill was best.

I think about 2/3 of my time has been as engineer. I am still amazed at how many people run over mines in obvious places. If possible I do try and put them in shadows or amongst debris but often they are slap bang in the middle of the road and people just run into them. Given how many mines I have put down I have started to be a lot more watchful when I am driving. Blowing up 2 mines is 20 points per mine and 200 for the anti explosives ribbon so a nice easy way to get 240 points!

Also if I am defending on rush and things are not going so well I have taken to putting a few mines in the defender spawn on my way back to the point and then that can catch the attackers out when they capture and move to the next points.

It tells me how many vehicles I have destroyed but I can't find how many I have disabled which I expect will be 3 times the destroyed figure at least...

Don't you find the mine animation is rubbish for helping determine exactly where you're placing them? On BF2 and BF1942 it was really obvious but here it's anyone's guess. I have taken to dropping mines and like you say, trying to find a nice dark shadow is best or at a nice flag like on Caspian Border 'gas' station, which seems to be a popular spot.

Yeah, never hurts to lump a few mines down. Only thing is, I've played on a couple of hardcore servers where friendly fire is turned on and I'm pretty sure placing mines down will soon earn me a bad reputation as people don't open their eyes at all to mines even when they may have giant skull and crossbone markers floating above them as you got in BF2.

I didn't know about the mine destruction point thing so I am definitely gonna try that out. Now in fact. That is once I've finished reading today's post at TBB gaming forum and there are so many of them, I fear T2D will be prattling on and on incessantly about MW3 and I can't bear to repeat the rest. Yargh! I love MW but crikey, man, put a sock in it and for goodness sake buy BF3! I wonder if he'll notice this post? Hehe. smile

I've tried shooting enemy mines but they seem to be bullet proof

They are bullet proof... which is odd. But a grenade (or RPG) will sort them out

Yeah, I got my Anti Explosives ribbon 9x now. Just lug a grenade at them usually. I wouldn't wanna waste too many of my lovely rockets.

I've gone off the javelin a bit actually. It doesn't have the flexibility of the RPG to me and far too many times tanks survive the 3 missiles I can send their way.

The stinger came in very handy last night but you do need the additional 'exposives' perk thing to make them worthwhile (well, either that or for the helo pilot to not have flares).

I'm finding there are now a few helo pilots who've unlocked the rockets and stuff and they are becoming a pain. I really hope it doesn't get like BF2 where they're practically invulnerable and dominate maps to a crazy extent.

I have just started using the javelin because I want to at least get a service star with everything and I now have about 130 kills with the RPG and just shy of 100 with the SMAW.

Explains about damage to tanks/armored vehicles. Basically the Javelin is a bit weak and is only really saved by the SOFLAM (which no one really uses)
