It's the same reason why sports games and racing games are superior on a console. The control system lends itself to those games. It's why I don't play them on my PC.
First person shooters should never be played on a console. Ignoring the fact that the hardware is inferior and the games generally cost more, why is it nearly every game of the sort has pre-programmed auto aiming to assist the player? It's because it's close to impossible to aim accurately in any reasonable length of time (< 1/2 second) using a control pad. You give yourself a poor imitation when you play a console version of CoD or BF. Leakage of the poor elements of console play into the PC versions is rightly derided. See every PC gamer forum on the internet for confirmation.
I suspect the reason you don't get disconnections on Battlefield on a console is because it isn't using servers like the PC version.
