So it's made of plastic, vibrates and is battery powered. And you can play with it in the bedroom? And they make you put a strap on? blush

You can stroke it, shake it, and fiddle with um, dual knobs/control sticks whilst other people watch on or join in. I guess gaming is getting interesting! wink

Spook you crack me up winkand the vita i ordered comes with a memory card 4 gig which i will more than likely change in the future if i get on with the device.

Im sure i read that you needed a card for game saves and downloadable content,

Just read this..............

Sony's PlayStation Vita has a high level of graphical prowess, a stellar list of third-party development partners, and has a lovely, large enhanced resolution screen. There is plenty to love about this new handheld from Sony so far but, in a recent FAQ posting by Sony, it may have one minor flaw that will cause some to grimace in disappointment.

Sony has revealed that the PS Vita will not have internal memory and since the Vita has a storage media slot, users can purchase a memory card of their own accord in relation to their needs and planned space usage.

Q: Does PS Vita have internal memory?
A: PS Vita is equipped with the storage media slot so that users can choose what memory capacity they want to utilize depending on their use.

So, if you plan to purchase PSP games or Vita games off PlayStation Network, you'll need a hefty sized card to hold a robust roster of digital titles. This memory unit will only be required for digital games as the Vita game format will be able to save data directly to the flash card itself, much like the 3DS.

As to what kind of format this will be, Sony isn't ready to reveal it.es.

Q: What type of storage media will PS Vita support?
A: This will be announced at a later date.

The bloke said some games will save saves to the game card. He had 6 full games saved onto the 16gb memory card, so no need to carry the game cards.

IMO rightly or wrongly, money on handheld games is best spent on something ultimately re-playable. FPS and Action games look great on the Vita, but will I get bored after one play through? There will be hundreds of minis and digital games obviously. But I'm talking about the big titles.

Hence my thinking for a list of games I would consider, might be (bare these in mind T2D tongue):

ModNation Racers (really hoping for this one!)
LBP
Rayman
FIFA
Formula 1

Any other suggestions, perhaps for top a notch platformer?

ModNation Racers and F1 2011 are both being released

Wipeout has never interested me, don't know what it is about it but I don't like it.

Uncharted would be good one to have, but like you say once played they are no good.

Haha, I wish! Ahem. grin

It's a shame Sony have elected to develop their own proprietary media card for saving data. It's understandable they'd want to do this for distributing games, having ditched the UMD but to have no onboard storage for game data and patches is just stupid in my view. I fully expect to see an updated version a year or 2 from now with gigabytes of internal storage.

'Bare' in mind? Are you still thinking about what I think you're thinking about? wink I think you meant bear in mind, as in consider rather than nekkid. Mind you, T2D's mind probably is a bit bare so I guess you was right the first time! laugh tongue

Just back from my local Game, been playing with one for a while. I've gone for the Vita (WiFi only) with an 8GB card plus Uncharted and also ordered Dungeon Hunter plus a protective case.

Played 'Little Deviants' instore, fairly addictive that! (I knew I should have taken my reading glasses frown)

BT -> Zen -> F2S -> Bulldog -> Be* -> BT Infinity

Hmmm. Bear you say?

Yeah, bit of a downer on the memory card thing, but it's no more than I've come to expect really. I think an 8 GB will be enough for me luckily and that's not a bad package.

WiFi Vita
8 GB card
ModNation Racers
£ 259

What do you think of the build quality and game quality?
