I love BF but you have to squad up and communicate with your squad or the game will get old very quickly
I think you have summed it up very well.

I'm trying to get back into BF3 and have been playing for a couple of hours today on the campaign mode to get used to the controls again. The campaign is pretty dire to be honest, rather confused and disjointed. That said, the tank section (the one paraded prior to the games launch) is brilliant and could be developeed into a full length game on its own.

As for control, the horizontal axis is (annoyingly) not at all sharp, much akin to the Killzone series (cue comments about it being more realistic that way) but I'm getting there again slowly.

I have premium thanks to my clan owner. but its totally worth every penny. You also get things such as extra content drops between the expansions which make it worth while, and you get at least 1 double XP per month, more than normal users.

Normally the map packs cost £11.99 so 4 maps cost more than all the content you get extra with premium, the premium knife is also better than standard one.

The close quarters maps are pretty good to for a change of pace, plus you get the GUN MASTER game mode which is like the call of duty style GUN GAME where you progress through the weapons starting from pistol ending with a knife kill, you must get 2 kills per weapon to progress and a single knife kill to finish.

Scrapmetal is the only map im not keen on as there are to may COD style camping points which easily allow for people to spawn camp many of the spawn points at once.

Anyone owns this on the PC add me on origin -cXn-Jonas and we can play and mess some enemies up.

Have you downloaded the latest patch? You should find the look mechanic has dramatically improved, less input lag and much snappier. A lot of folks are returning to BF3 now that EA/DICE finally seem to have got their act together.

BF has never really been known for their single player modes infact im sure its only the recent iterations that included it. I never play the campaigns waste of time imo. If you enjoyed the tank level look out for Armoured Kill DLC dropping in a few months.

Ok so Ive spent maybe £100 on BF3 but its money well spent imo. I can spend that on a night out with the missus and this is much more fun smile

I have but I doubt I'll see much difference untilI I get used to it again. I think its stilll far too sensitive for sticks even when turned right down.

More importantly, the lag is still terrible for low pingers. Every single server for the Europe region (91 on my browser) has the full 5 bars for ping. Thats nonsense really and unplayable for me. |I am having to choose games in Asia and Austalia to even make my shots register. If I return to ADSL I will get a 45ms ping instead of 9ms, but then I end up with half a meg instead of 40.

I'm stuck between a rock and a hard place as far as gaming is concerned and have taken to camping on Kharg IslaND. frown

Scratch that, I was wrong. It is still unplayable 9 times out of 10.

Back to co-op in future.
