Yeah, some games are too long for sure. They'll probably much about with the ticket countdown rate come next patch then change it again the one after that.

Was it time for you bedtime cocoa and slippers then, grandpa? wink

Hehe. tongue

Originally the games only had 200 tickets, games were quite quick then, sometimes too quick. It's because people are renting servers and changing the ticket numbers that some games are too long.
I reckon about 600 tickets is about right

I do agree the crazy 2000 ticket servers and the like are madness. Some people find it fun. I know one of our platoon was playing on a 10,000 ticket Metro server the other week.
I just rapidly get bored especially in games were its just a steam roll for one side and you're sat that waiting for the tickets to countdown so you can change maps.

Getting the right ticket count is a science. I used to use 150% tickets on every map (450-600 tickets on most of the base Conquest64 maps). Worked quite well for most maps on 64 player. Now I tend to set tickets on a per map basis ranging from 75-300% depending on the number of players on the server.

You can never find the perfect balance as someone will always complain they have to few tickets or too many.

I prefer the 200 - 300 ticket games. The 600 ones are boring me to death now, I am really going off Battlefield for that reason. They go on for far too long and when it's one sided it is so boring. I was playing Tehran Highway night before last and we managed to push them back to their spawn point and the guys weren't good enough to get past us so we just had to wait an age for the tickets to run out so we could move on to a different map.

I have also noticed on the Xbox since private servers have come out a lot of the time they are half full which makes it even more boring. Hope something is done about it soon frown

I spend most of my time playing on a server with only 3 maps in its rotation.
Caspian boarded, Kraggy island and Firestorm all set at 300% tickets
It's always full and only with lower ranks smile

That sounds good, although not the lower ranks. It's good fun thrashing people, but I like a challenge as well! It's good when your squad is competing with the opposing squad for the Ace Squad pin....especially when they are a clan smile

Remember when I played Battlefield 2 (never had the first)...such a good game - still play it now on the PC every now and again. I used to like that Urban map that had the really tall building in the centre which I used to snipe people all over the map, cant remember what it is called now.

I never really liked Battlefield 2, and thus was rather hesitant about getting 3. However, the free online version was a good demo for it...
