Anyone with any knowledge regarding games and Gaming would have seen this Christmas Turkey coming from 100 miles away.
Even the trailer was [censored],and when they actually showed gameplay footage the nail was hammered even tighter into the coffin of a gaming disaster of the highest order.
I tend to go for developers when i pick up a game that has had little to know publicity and Gearbox in my opinion have produced absolutely Diddley Squat and i also put Borderlands in that category also even so some think that game is a great game by itself .
duke nuke em forever says it all and was the game that gave Gearbox a bad name all by itself,i was telling you for months Mr mrnelster that Colonial Marines would be a complete utter failure and it was.
I guarantee if they had given that game to someone like Rockstar,Or Metroid prime developers Retro or Ubisoft the game would have been a massive hit.
Now people all over the planet will be well aware of any future games released by Gearbox and there reputation as developers at present is right in the garbage bin and whatever they release next will have to hit a very high mark or they will fade into oblivion.
Took only a matter of a month for that game to drop to half its actual price, personally i would not buy a shrink wrapped brand new copy of that game for 0.99p...........
What makes me laugh is the fact that Gearbox and a fair few other developer think they can get away with it,have they never heard about how powerful the internet is and the leaked footage of early copies and the reviews that flood in before the game even hits the streets .
They might have fooled the school kids who don't really have that many high expectations, but serious gamers i don't think so !
Everytime someone tries to cash in on a film franchise we get a joke of a game trying to live up to the hype of the film, just looking now at metocritic i see the same once again for Star Trek the Game released Friday.......Been torn to shreds by every review site going.
