Re: Pre/order Playstation 4 deadline 5th August

Should last a while year, it was to replace my GTX 580 which is 2-3 years old. Most of my gaming will be done on PC like Watch_Dogs and BF4 but I'll be getting a PS4 for some of the exclusive/console only titles... Tom Clancy's The Division comes to mind but I'm sure there are a few others I just can't think of atm xD

console gamers always say this about gfx cards.

my gfx card cost £120 a year ago (might be 2 years ago cant remember) and isnt out of date now, its not the latest but will play any new game fine.

however on the other hand £350 for a console is expensive. If you think it isnt wait 2 years and then see if a ps4 costs £350 then.

in 2 years the ps4 will have a bigger hdd, probably be smaller and will cost less. But the big thing is by then there will be many games for it to choose from and play.

I have over 50 games between my 360 and ps3. 15 of those games I regurly replay. In fact I replay games so often about half my game collection is still shrinkwrapped, I have too many games waiting to be played. I have had skyrim since launch still shrinkwrapped eg. and have yet to even complete oblivion as the game is so big.

It seems some people are willing to ditch a consol (and all its games) on a whim, thats something I cant understand, as its the games that are the value not the console. There is no way I am putting these games aside which means I keep the consoles as well to play the games.

With the lack of backwards compatability on the new consoles this basically means I dont buy them until there is enough games on them I want to play, all of the launch titles look like rubbish to me, (not into sports and first person games) so for me I keep the existing consoles and games. In fact my type of game I like I think may not even happen on the new consoles as I am into japenese rpg's which are moving to handhelds. Some western rpg's I like but isnt any announced yet for next gen.

There are more game releases on the new consoles than ever before, and I would rarther play watchdogs and the new Killzone on a Playstation 4 than a ageing Playstation 3 provided there is a graphical difference which we are promised.

You might not have finished the games you bought but I have and so have the majority of people,to think like you said you have half your games still shrink wrapped is utter ridiculous to say the least,if you have not got time or to many games why buy them in the first place, may be it would have been better for you to wait a few months when the games you have still wrapped will be half the price.

As soon as something like a more powerful console comes along with faster ram, greater graphical capabilities and a new dashboard with some interesting features I leap at the chance.

After all us console gamers can not just upgrade every few months like PC gamers and we are stuck with what we have for years.

Besides this is the longest next generation wait and November cannot come quick enough,my only regret when I ditch the p3 will be I won't be able to replay The Last Of Us,but hopefully it will get ported at some stage and I can play it again and again.

I got no issue with the people preordering this stuff smile

Just surprised at the sellout with the preorders.

To me it doesnt make a lot of sense to buy yet, but obviously people are excited about the new consoles.

Also I think the PS4 looks hands down better than the xbox one for the next generation, microsoft are also showing a lot of indecision, u-turns here there and everywhere.

Sack Oblivion off and crack on with Skyrim, it's loads better! I gave up on Oblivion, it wasn't for me. But Skyrim I really like, I have only recently got it myself, I am about 12 hours in and having a really good time on it smile

I hear you on the Japanese RPG's too, I don't play so many anymore but I used to absolutely love the Breath of Fire series as well as things like Final Fantasy 7, 8 and 9. I have got a couple on the 360 but never really got into them, Enchanted Arms wasn't bad but I didn't complete it. I have heard Tales of Vesperia is good but probably too late to get started on that.

I have been a avid 360 supporter on these boards for the last 3 years and have preferred to get the majority of my games on the 360 even though I have always had all the consoles.

You are right in thinking that the Playstation looks the better product and normally without hesitation I would have bought both but for the horrible original conference Microsoft put together they alienated a lot of there supporters and have done untold damage, even the 180 uturn has done little to instill confedence in there product and they can not be trusted in what the implement in the future.

This will be the first Next Generation swap over that I will only pick 1 console and I made my choice after the Sony conference in Feb and my order was placed then.

I was desperate for Microsoft to really come back at Sony and convince me that I will need both consoles, but after there dam dreadful awful reveal all they done was give Sony some extra customers because there presentation was everything a Gamer dreaded and the person/ persons responsible for the diabolical decisions know absolutely nothing about gaming.

And the mouthpiece at the time Don Matrich has now left the company.....What a surprise.

The Xbox one does not interest me in the slightest and the only reason I would by one at this moment in time is if Sony went bankrupted and came out of gaming and never got to release the Playstation 4 and that ain't happening.

Microsoft would have to literally blow me away with mind blowing exclusives for me to be slightly interested, they say never say never but from what I see I only need a Playstation 4 .

Not even the new Respawn cod clone interests me and even that has slipped into 2014,only Remedys new exclusive looks half decent and everything else is on a playstation 4 with plenty of exclusives of there own like the new Killzone and the drop dead gorgeous looking Infamous second son which sadly has also slipped to march 2014

But there are plenty of games to keep me well and truly ocupied through the winter like Killzone,Watchdogs,Battlefield 4 to name just a few.

Will buy the new Splinter cell Blacklist game next week and possibly GTA5 and that's my lot on last generation, don't know who had the bright idea of not bringing GTA5 to the next gen as its only on the 360 and playstation 3.

All that does is make it easier not to rush to upgrade as this along with most of the next gen games will be on the ageing hardware we are still using 7 years later.

But I'm into gadgets, and nothing excites me more than a next generation console ,and I'm not talking about the Nintendo Wii U the once proud brilliant company that have 3rd party developers eloping in there droves and a system that is so underpowered and underwhelming it hurts.

Nintendo had there day with the Nintendo Wii and it thought it would stay on those safe grounds but for hardcore gamers its just a cheap motion controlled gimmick that does not appeal to me,just like the Kinnect and the Sony Playstation move.

Fun for 30 minutes never to see the light of day again, and another reason why Xbox One does not interest me.
