Well, I've just had my first taste of GTV online and it was the stupidest, most frustrating load of nonsense I have ever experienced. I've been playing the game in single player. Why on earth would I need to carry out a series of forced tutorials before I can invite or join friends? The same sort of tutorials I did with single player. And why would you have to switch passive mode off to rob the store, then get shot outside by some muppet who knows you haven't had time to turn it back on. Surely that is the whole point of passive mode, to protect yourself from the muppets? Why would I want to have to keep disabling it to interact with the missions? Have a word with yourself Rockstar North.
Anyway. After eventually cutting through all the carp (and it really is carp) I unlocked the ability to invite a friend to my game (whichever overpaid dipstick thought that should be an unlockable achievement needs a full frontal lobotomy) and that's when it redeemed itself.
My performance in stealing then wedging some rednecks 4WD pick up into a 3 storey scaffold, made me realise exactly what I could achieve with the share button if this game were to be released on the PS4. I then shot the pilot out of the police helicopter, watched his body fall to the ground and went looking for it, whilst my partner in crime mowed down scores more officers by doughnutting a bright orange metallic range rover.
Top sport.
