Well I think we have just about exhausted this thread to be honest....just 6 weeks away from the next generation ,shame the games for it are dropping like flies ...

Actually when I seriously think about it ,if Killzone Shadowfall had been delayed would there be any point buying a Playstation 4 at Launch, there are some great downloadable games out on the p4 store for free but the actual launch games are looking a little thin on the ground if you ask me,thank heavens it's that time of the year when we have another Cod and Battlefield game out to make up the numbers....and believe me that's all they are likely to do....Suppose Creed will appeal to quite a few ,not exactly what I like but I may invest because of the general shortage of quality titles .

Tesco are doing a nice Playstation 4 promotion / offer ...buy a tin of Roses and get KNACK free.....tongue

On a personal level and given the upgrade of both the new consoles I don't think Cloud is even needed like you say for the next few years.

Having read about cloud computing my concern is it'll just be a way for MS and Sony to mine 'big data' so they can make more money out of us through advertising.

There are potential good uses for cloud computing though, even in the corporate world, that could benefit the end user (beyond 'streaming' when broadband infrastructure catches up). Understanding how players play games could be of real benefit to devs and help to improve them: control input and suchlike.

Also, educationally: there's got to be useful info from social and psychological studies but the issue of privacy is very important of course. MS and Sony could easily be accused of spying on their gamers in even more insidious ways than having access to in-home mics and cameras. Big Brother made real perhaps?

Actually, given today's climate of NSA scandal (with America basically spying on the whole world and collecting all sorts of data from just about anybody and everybody), it looks like gamers are gonna be lambs to the slaughter as far as data collection (and potential privacy issues) is concerned.

Still, no point in worrying about it all. Might as well just learn to live with it in my view. I'm gonna carry on masturbating in my living room and pulling moonies just for the hell of it and I don't even own a PS4 or XBO. There, that'll confuse em.
