And there was I thinking I was special...
I had you down as being a bit special a long time ago. tongue

I'll probably pick up BF4, on the PS4 after Christmas at some point. Most of my friends will be on COD Ghosts so I suspect I will devote a fair amount of time to that as well.

As for the fair price for a game? That's a difficult one. I don't think any should be above forty quid to be honest, as Sony exclusives are generally far superior to multi plats and they sell at forty quid. For PC games I'm not really qualified to comment, but as there is no subsidy when buying the rig to start with, I would say thirty is fair for the big AAA titles. As you said, I like pretty games too and understand that that is always going to cost more to produce.

What I hate is games like Skyrim suffering technically on one platform, yet still being farmed out at full price. I am really disappointed that I never got to play it, but I refused to pay for a shoddy port. frown

Hopefully the new architecture will mean this never happens again.

Can't argue with that. crazy laugh

Played Skyrim briefly on Xbox 360 but on a [censored] old CRT tv and it looked sh...|t. Definitely improved after the official HD texture pack.

Well, I'm off to pick my nose with a fork (being the special guy I am).

I think the PS4 videos look great especially as they are from YouTube. Uncompressed it should look even better. smile

I think the Xbone looks like a major improvement aswell, although the lens flare thing is a bit much for my old eyes. That said, the PS4 version looked a little dark for my liking aswell.

Anyway, the crisp outlines and greater draw distance will probably mean I will give it a go. I've always really wanted to like BF3, but the lag ruined it for me. This time round I will take a different approach with a lot more sniping. smile

They actually Call it Camping..tongue

And you will need a BIG tent when i come and kick your butt in Killzone Shadowfall ,I'm going to put so many holes in you the mrs can use you as a Back up Watering can for your garden blush

Now I'm of to have my cup of Horlick's and drop me teeth in a Glass..crazy

There ain't no tent big enough in this world that will prevent me from tracking you down and turning you into a brum cullender. Anyway, with that new radar perk thingy, it'll be like the war of the Ready Brek men. smile

BF4 review from USA

[re: deleted] [link to this post]

Last night me and my Scottish mate were playing GTA and we could see our American BF3 mates coming on the PS and playing BF4
After a few hours one of them (long time level 100 BF3) joined us in GTA. I asked him what BF4 is like. He said "Don't waste your money, they ruined it by trying to make it more like COD, the maps are pretty cool but it sux"

We all agreed that GTA is much more fun to play.
So I don't think I'll bother getting it

**Edit**

I managed to buy an apartment last night. Nice place, it cost me $253k
Just in the process of filling the garage now, trouble is all the cars I steal have trackers fitted so I can't get them into my garage frown

Can't you take the stolen cars to a chop-shop? tongue

How come your US buddies are all playing BF4 already? That would be on the PS3 yeah? Apart from playing like COD were there any other issues?

To tell the truth, the BF4 demo was nothing like COD when I played it. Though it's definitely true that BF3 morphed more into COD-like arcade style gameplay when it was released though more in looks I thought.

What maps were these guys playing then? Must've been small sized infantry levels? When there's a high concentration of players in a confined space it gets more than a little hectic with people respawning every other minute at times. I wonder if their gaming experience was skewed by being similar to one of the type of maps you get in the BF3 Close Quarters?

The large scale BF4 demo map with choppers and tanks was much like the traditional Battlefield experience to be sure. I enjoyed it anyhow. Not cancelling. smile

Yea you can take cars to the chop shop but if they are expensive they tell you they are too hot and won't let you in.

BF4 is out over in USA on the PS3
He didn't say alot about it as we were in the middle of a hillbilly battle when he joined. He isn't impressed with it. I'm going to get it but don't think I'll be spending much time on it as GTA is too much fun to leave smile

I preferred BFBC to BF3 at the beginning but it grew on me. Not sure I'll give BF4 the chance at the moment.

BF4 launched in the USA on Monday for all platforms- Europe has to wait till Friday or if you play on PC and get a digital code can just use a us vpn to unlock the game.

As for the dlc, in about 3-6 months Origin and other online stores will likely put premium to half price- so 20 pounds for the remaining 4 dlc.

As for the price of games most console titles are 45-35 pounds on launch- pc varys from 35-20 but it all depends on the publisher.

As for BF4 i would look at the independent online reviewers online as they will give the most unbias view of the game.
